My *achoo!* 2000 broke!

Post by Poseidon2000 » Mon Sep 17, 2012 10:39 am

My old hand-me-down max-d 2000 broke!

When I opened this beast up, i saw that some of the springs were rusty and out of place! I put them back to their spots, but the spring at the firing valve is snapped and rusty(Max-d snap?)! Help! Pictures will come soon!

By the way, if you can't read that small print, it says:
MAX-D

That's not funny!

Just kidding. Pictures will definitely help us figure out a solution to your problem, but for now my suggestion is to do something similar to what I did to my Arctic Blast (See this thread.). Also, ask yourself: Is it really worth it? My 2000 broke a couple of years ago, but I really have not found the motivation to fix it (that and it's got a pretty serious problem.). After all, it's just a sidearm. I have loads of them, and stores actually still sell good sidearms, so you could easily buy a worthy replacement, something you can't do with primaries.

If you're coming to the CT war, I can sell you a Max-D 3000 for $5, they are similar. Or, you could take a Buzz Bee pistol instead, which imo have higher construction quality. I have 2 WW crickets, a hornet, and a stingray. Any of these can yours for $5.

If you really want to replace the springs, it is possible, although the 2000 spring might not come off the firing pin without prying/sawing. If the spring inside the valve is rusted out...it's a headache to get in there unless the valve is not glued.

Meh, there's $5 right next to me.... 'Kay, Sold! :goofy: I'll just scrap the 2000, it's already disected.

Either the 3000 or the Hornet. Whatever you want off your hands, DX!

If a broken gun is replaced with a working gun, there is no net change to the amount of them that you have.

Well, all i thought i had to do to fix this thing was to put the spring back(the one connected to the pull valve), which i did. It now shoots, however every time i pump, H20 comes out, and when held nozzle-down, it leaks frome ye nozzle.

Well, I mine as well trash it. :(
