I was hunting around ebay to find a legendary CPS 2000, when I stumbled on this thing going for a reasonable $30:

http://keith.home.cyberverse.com/cps2000/cps2000-2s.jpg

The page claimed it got 50ft, but it looks a lot smaller and different from isoaker.com's picture of the CPS2000. Did Hasbro/laramie tone the soaker down? Can I get the same performance from that thing? If not, where could I get a CPS2000?

Oh! My bad! It's a knock-off "Super Shooter". Anyhoo, where can I get a REAL CPS 2000?

I know that you probably already no this, and I am not trying to anger you, I will just say what most people would say:Try eBay. I personally don't use eBay, because I doubt my parents would just let try to buy things on the internet.

While that's not a true CPS2000, it really looks like a CPS1000 with a incorrect sticker. If it really is a CPS-based soaker and behaves the way a CPS1000 does, it's not bad at all. However, it is definitely NOT a CPS2000.

If that is a CPS 1000 with the wrong sticker, then it's probably worth a lot of money becuase it is a rare factory screw up. Except now factory screw ups aren't rare with Super Soaker now, they were then.

They wouldn't factory screw up a sticker, and also accidentally put the wrong company name on their product. Cheap knock-off is the correct analysis here. It's prolly air-pressure, if it's not piston action...

The Super Shooter CPS 2000 is a good fake. Apparently it performs just like a regular CPS 1000.

I'm surprise that some didn't recognize this immediately. I would get it, but I don't have money at the moment.

How to tell if it's not a cheap knock-off: Make sure the reservoir has a cap, the trigger isn't the cheap kind, and the gun is the correct size.

(Remember, the Super Shooter CPS 2000 is one of the few good fakes that have been seen.)

So it really performs like a CPS 1000, and uses CPS technology? I might buy it, then, but it seems unlikely and extremely illegal.

edit: Also, is the same true for the other guns he sells, or are they crap?

Hmm, not my Super Shooter CPS 2000. Mine leaked all over the place and its parts were not compatible with a Super Soaker CPS 1000. It was worthless.

the cps 2000 is orange

Hahahaha! LOL

sorry. :p
anyways you can tell the crappy quality of that just by looking at it. it's made of weird shiny plastic, and just look at the top of the nozzle cover where the light is hitting it. it looks all deformed. also, aside from the obvious blatant mis-labeling and logo ripoff, the holes in the sides of the CPS chamber are missing. also, the part where the grey plastic has little ridges in it (in front of the tank) should not be angled. on a real CPS 1000 the ridges are all parallel.

and it is all wierd and flattened. it looks like a thin sheet of plastic with holes where the pc and the tank are, and they are just plastic balls in the holes. :p

I actually have both of those guns (not the fakes). My old old one looks like the one in the rip-off picture and my brother had the actual cps 2000.
I dont think they ever broke so i would have to try them out again

I got my CPS 1000 out and compared it to the pic and the "CPS 2000" in the pic is a fake! I know mine is real beacuse I can fire upsidedown like all real CPS should be able to do. :bm1000: :cps2000:
