So I've been busy, but I did see something interesting at the fancy VV:
Image
A SS50 for 4$. It works fine, but someone wrote all over the reservoir. :(
I considered buying it, but I already have one... maybe I could swap the reservoirs to make one nice gun and one not so nice gun? IDK, these seem to be uber common and not very powerful to boot. :P
Also, this was almost a week ago, so it may not even be there still...

But something that I did buy from my favorite, local VV yesterday for 4$:
Image
That would be Tiger Shark #3. I love these guns. :)

SS 50's made a run up to $50 last year. There was such demand that my 50 sold for $50 just 2 days into the listing. It would be foolish to pass up any 50 you find because they could go up again.

That's pretty funny. Last year when I wanted to sell mine they were going for about 10$. Since then I have passed by on many SS50 and 100 (although some were quite broken).
So in the future, should I buy SS50's, SS100's, both?

Both. 100s were going for even more, as high as $100 (but had to be MK2 and in good condition). 100s are still competitive blasters, more so than a Tiger Shark.

-What's the difference between a SS100 MK1/MK2?

Also:
Image
Two XXP 175 (The SS50 pictured above was gone) for 6.99 each! The price is pretty plech for these things, although I do have a stamp pass to bring it down to 5$ each.
They are each missing one sticker from one tank, and they are missing the pressure gauge sticker, and one is really faded...
Still, do I buy just to go through the process of selling? I checked ebay but got no results yet.

$15-20ish in good condition, $10ish if not. Last one sold more than 3 months ago on Ebay, so that gives you an idea of the liquidity.

I've seen 175's listed for more than 275's. One i remember for sure was asking $70 I don't think it sold.

175s are very fun, but not that good. I'd buy and sell online. I still want to try a Tigershark.

I don't think it sold.
They only count if they actually sold.

So I went on another thrifting run. This time I picked up this:
Image
In it's natural habitat..

A WW Lightning, just like the one I have, for 4$. Not bad at all.

As for the XXP 175.... I don't know, I just ... hate XXP 175's. Every time I used to see one, I would say "Damn! Could have been a CPS 2000." Even now, every time I see one I go "Damn! Could have been a 275!". I reaaally want another 275. I have been kicking myself for months now.
Thanks for the info DX, I am still not thinking about buying these to re-sell for profit. The problem is that Canadian shipping is going to add 10-15$ to the purchase price, and if that means I am going to be making no money at all... not to mention the hassle since I am not a regular ebay seller... Yeah. Not worth it to me.

Still might just buy the pair for the hell of it though.

So this week I found:
Image
A CPS 1500... fake. It looks pretty good but I noticed right away a few things. The weight was wrong and the gun is a little too small. The trigger is wrong, the nozzle was super wrong, the reservoir is oddly shaped, the sticker.. was the right number, but still wrong. The list goes on....
The pump is a little short, and basically it's a big PR gun (pinch trigger and all) shaped and detailed like a CPS 1500. It's a pretty good knockoff by all appearances.
Anywho, I hummed and hawed for a while but in the end I bought it for 1.99$. I figure that I could take the pump handle, or if I was feeling really creative, use the shell for a homemade. Either way I couldn't go wrong for two bucks. I think.

I found a SS Sneak Attack for $3. Not amazing, but it is my favorite piston pumper ever.

Back at the mcfancypants rich VV:
Image
A CPS 2700 in good working condition for 5.99$. This Value Village is just awesome! It's in the right neighborhood so that people donate high-quality stuff and not a lot of people go there either. It's my secret VV. Also, I found two new in package XP 215 for 4$ each. I didn't want them though-they are tiny!

Two days later I found this at the dirtiest VV on earth:
Image
An Air Pressure WW Sphinx and an Oozinator. I left them both there. There is no way I would voluntarily buy an Oozinator (unless maybe it was NIB). As for the Sphinx, it was cool but the pump was seized up and I don't have much room left for non-CPS guns. ;)

So I decided, in spite of the heat, to stop by at my local VV today after work. As I walked towards the shelves I spotted a big green bottle. Flashes of the fake CPS 1500 I bought from the same VV a few weeks ago passed through my mind. I hustled over and I saw this:
Image
A freaking CPS 1500 for 5.99, and a CPS 3000 for 4.99. I couldn't freaking believe it. They're both solid guns, with bright colours and just a touch of corrosion. The CPS 1500 has a valve problem and the nozzle selector is quite stiff (nothing I can't fix!), but the CPS 3000 works great- it even air-shoots!
Image
The 1500 lacked a reservoir cap but...
Image
I have this green reservoir cap from some other gun (an XP 270 I think) and it fits just fine! In fact, the mouth is so wide that the retaining piece popped right in.

It's official, I need a title befitting one who finds so many great guns at thrift stores. XD
