What about Team People Named Ben vs Team People Not Named Ben?

In all seriousness, I do like the idea of North vs South so long as the teams are fairly evenly distributed. Of course, if attendance numbers are big enough I don't think a one or two person difference will be all to bad. In the spirit of getting everyone increasingly excited for this game, I may be bringing my brother and girlfriend down, making a total of 4 people coming under the Wetmonkey banner.

Nick (Belisaurius) intends to come, making the North all that much more badass. :bringiton:

Yeah, that XP 270 of his is soooo badass lol but really, I don't know how I feel about you and Nick actually fighting on the same team. It seems wrong. Would you actually be able to work together?

Because so many people are coming, we will probably need to get campsites at Umstead on Saturday. We can camp out at my house on Friday. We'll have a big night battle... or 10. We can order pizza and stay up late watching movies or playing PS3 or whatever while drying off between rounds.

I wish I could come Friday, sounds like every one is going to have a good time hanging out. Oh well, maybe if I will have to bring my PS2, a portable DVD player, and a generator for camping on Saturday, or maybe I'll just bring the RV! :goofy: Probably not though, that thing gets like 7 miles per gallon, a few years ago maybe, but not now. In all seriousness though, if it has electricity we could bring a small screen and a game console.

More then likely, we will all be caught up roasting mallows and doing other outdoor activities. If we could, I would like to have more night wars Saturday night, other then a really short 1 on 2 in the backyard (0.05 acres, if that) and really want to try it.

As far as teams go, we could try north vs. south; I guess we will have to raid a civil war gift shop for flags.
I'd like to have many teams like there used to be, I could sort of count me and my friends as a team, though it is questionable how serious all of them all. Also even once I'm comfortable driving long distances with out my dad, my van can still only set 7, and no one else even has there learners!

Then we have to go find a bunch of wagon wheels that we can mount our WBLs on. Don't laugh, but I did seriously consider doing that to one of them. Course, how likely is it to stumble upon wheels at a yard sale?

Unfortunately, I don't really have any modern games to bring. I have an NES with working Mario and Super Mario cartridges though...remember when being able to save your progress was a novelty?

Friends? Are you bringing more than one now? It's a shame that you don't get to come on Friday, we have 2 acres +the neighborhood to fight in at night. I'm sure we will night fight at Umstead too. It's $20 per campsite, so bring big tents (I know I am) so we can save $.

Super Mario is awesome. Bring it.

M4, can you PM me your address so I can get directions?

I am going to bring a 6-person tent (which means 4 normal sized people can fit without it being to cramped.), which is the biggest tent we have. We also have a 4-person tent that we could probably squeeze in if someone needs it.

I thought about North vs. South rounds too. I say do it if we have at least somewhat equal numbers on both sides. I already have a small team, but it's mostly me and my brothers, with my friend(s) joining in occasionally.

Oh, one more thing; how far is your house from the park? My grandfather will be at my uncle's house, so I won't have a ride over there (from your house to the park.) unless one of you has enough room for me and my brothers, plus all our equipment. If the park is fairly close, we could even take multiple trips if we have to.

The park isn't close enough to really go back and forth quickly. It's about 20 minutes away. The plan is to camp out at my house on Friday, then go to the park on Saturday, and get a campsite there and camp out there. We should prereserve camp sites. Gotta figure out how many we will need. I can give you a ride over there, or someone else can. It will be covered. Where does your uncle live?

Thanks for the address. Microsoft Streets & Trips says that it'll be 10 hours and 6 minutes, but that's if we go the direct route, which takes us through practically every big city in between here and there. I'm not sure which way we'll go yet.

My uncle lives in Charlotte, which is like 2 hours away I think. M4, you should be the one who reserves the campsite(s); I'll be happy to pitch in some dough to cover costs.

Good news! I have asked my art teacher and she says that the art salon really won't be that much, people come and look at students art work and they might have snacks. She also says that most the stuff will be up earlier in the week so my parents could just come see it then.

So, this means, I CAN COME ON FRIDAY! (< We need a regular smiley like this). So unless my drama teacher suddenly decides he wants us to do something (unlikely, he's cool and I told him all about VW13), me, my dad (who will probably stay in a hotel), and Bela will be coming on Friday night, probably around 8-9pm since his parents probably would not be OK with him leaving school early for a "squirt gun fight." Hope it is still OK if I come on Friday, I know before I said I couldn't.

By the way M4, what games do you have?

That is good news indeed. I just purchased my PS3 last summer, before coming over here, so as of yet I only have NCAA Basketball, Legends of Troy, and Tony Hawk Proskater1. So, if you have any playstation 1 or 3 (I don't have compatibility with 2 for some reason) then bring them.

We will have a big night battle on Friday, my sister has decided to come back early from the beach early as well. I will reserve campgrounds (though I'd ask those driving themselves if they could reserve their own campsites) in a few weeks, once I know exactly how many to expect for camping out.

Why are we bringing game systems? lol. Oh well, if I had the space, I could bring my xbox and pwn all y'all in Reach (perhaps; my skills are getting rusty lol). Far as old school games go, I can bring SNES and N64. Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, Star Fox 64.

Didn't realize you were coming CA99, if you do bring a N64, I could bring Super Smash Bros. It is a little silly that we are planing on bringing game conceals to a war, but worst thing that will happen is we wont use them. If we want a better variety of games to play, I could bring along my PS2, I'm sure I can squeeze it in somewhere, but you'd have to narrow down what games I should bring. At last count I had 33 of them, but that what you get for buying games from 5+ years ago, there really cheep.

I don't know, maybe I'm getting a head of things a little, should I even bring any games at all?

Friday night we are camping out/hanging out at my house. There will be lots of fighting, but if you need to dry off and hang out inside, videogames are always a good option. Don't worry about bringing your PS2, I already have a PS3.

Also, DX and I have discussed making a movie Friday night to help advertise water warfare. Any ideas on some cool fight scenes you'd like to see?

Scott, that's only if I make it. But if I do make it, I am very unlikely to pack games in favor of more equipment. The space required by a game console can fit perhaps 2 primaries, more or less. I can bring a laptop to help edit the movie and a digital camera to help shoot it. (Only in 640x480 unfortunately.)

@M4: I'm still thinking that someone needs to pick up a GoPro and bolt it to the top of a couple blasters and maybe a WBL. That would make for some very entertaining footage.

Or you could just smuggle back some fancy army helmet cams. :goofy:

Actually the go pro thing is very tempting. I will be looking for deals on that. My friend Megan is coming to film Friday. She films and mixes music videos, she's very good. She's doing it for us for free. Unfortunately, she can't be there Sat or Sun cuz she has paid work in Myrtle Beach to take care of, but we can get some good filming done on Friday. She'll be at my house between 6 and 9. We can do some staged fights and crazy stuff to film then. After 9 we can do serious night fighting.

My dad has a an HD Water proof camera, that would be great for filming. The one problem with it though is when it takes a direct hit from a blaster, the speaker hole sometimes gets filled with water and must be shaken to pick up sound properly again. I have experimented with first person water wars, the first time I tried to hold it and the gun, which didn't work so well. The second try, (only a few days ago actually), I taped it on the gun, it worked really well and I got some great footage for the 4 minutes until the tape wore off (gaffers tape is only water proof if you have it flat, wrapped around a camera there is plenty of space for water to get in).

If we can find a better way of mounting it to the gun (or better yet our heads), I think we got a camera for filming. I really like this filming idea, I think I might have brought it up before, but I'm glad it is finally getting some attention! We really got to find a good scene to film. No ideas right now, but they have a habit of coming to me at 1:00am so lets see what tomorrow brings.
