This is posted from Drewsky on the soakthis forums:
I would like to announce that on Wendsday, Augest 18, 2004, I became the first person in soaker history to do a sucessful 100 balloon K-mod.
I got the range. It's 71 feet, 2 inches. A RECORD!!!!!
On topic: I get about 5 shots per tank with 5 pumps per shot. Although for max range I pump 10 shots so that's 2.5 shots per tank.

This was my response:

Impossible. While I do believe your 100 balloon mod, I don't believe your stats. I have a 90 balloon 21K, also MK3. It can't support more than 9 pumps. Plus, 100 balloons leaves less than 1 inch of clearance from the pc to the casing wall. There is not enough room for the pc to expand for 10 shots. With 90 balloons the range is 60ft. and 10 more balloons can not physically add 11ft. That's more than 1ft. of range per 1 balloon. Impossible. 65 balloons gets 55ft. of range. 90 gets 60ft. That's an increase of 5ft. with 25 more balloons. See physics playing in here? On a 21K you also get Max range on 5 pumps. I can prove you wrong. I will add 10 more balloons to my 90 balloon 21K, same mark as yours. Therefore they will be tech-wise identical guns and I will get credible statistics to either prove your mod amazing or false.

This is my challenge-to see if Drewsky's stats are for real!

I talked with Drew's dad and he said he was going to check out the stats. I'm not too skeptical, Dux.
You might wanna simma' a little bit.

Edit: You can't end a sentence in a preposition, Cloud!!!

Fine Duxbriuan, I will re-do the stats. I just want to say that I actulally did not measure the whole 71' with a tape measure. Here is what i've done: I estimated the range on steaping tiles (like steaping stones but with tiles) using math. There are 22 steaping tiles. Each tile is about 2', 6' long, making a path 55' long. But remember, there is about 1 1/2' of dirt in between each tile. That makes for a total of 3', 2" extra, adding up to be 58', 2" long. I then took out a 12' tape measure and measured 24 feet extra, marking the feet with twigs.

That was a lot of "abouts", so Dux, you are proably right. This time I will measure the entire shooting range, including the tiles. Chances are, It will shoot around 65 feet, according to your system (5 feet per 25 balloons).

I can pump it 10x, proably because I reinforced the piping and it will not burst. I am also planning on not using the pc (the case, not the bladder), so it can be pumped as much as you like.

Also, Dux, as you said yourself, every water gun is a little different. My Mk3 might be as powerful as a Mk1.

Edit: Spelling and grammar.

I think you will definately get range more than 60ft., but less than 70. It might shoot around 63ft., 10 balloons more isn't really that much of a powerup. I might have been a little too critical, so congradulations for 100 balloons!

<EDIT> I'm making a 100 balloon K to compare stats and I realized that I have another 21K MK3 and will be adding to that one as well. But on that 2nd 21K, I'm not stopping at 100 balloons........... :goofy:

I think it will shoot more like 65', but I guess only testing will prove that. Oh, and it's raining here, so I can't get the stats today. Hopfuly I will get them tomarrow.

@Dux: Nooooo!!!!!!! Not my record!!!!  Lol.

I can't get stats either right now. All the streets are flooding and you can't see a thing. Hopefully it will clear soon, I've got a 100 balloon extension and a 110 balloon extension planned for today. It's just that this darn storm won't let me go out and buy the balloons......

<UPDATE> This is turning into a contest to get the most balloons on a pc and is getting pointless. I have reached 105 balloons, and have no intention of going any further. If you beat it, I don't care. I'm starting my APH tomarrow, which will probably have more power than 100 balloons on a 2100 and is therefore a more useful project.

Yeah, I do think this K-modding has gone too far. I doubt this is what XN ever intended people to use this mod for. I believe I said at SSCentral, anyone can go out, buy 400 balloons, K-mod them all onto a PC and then brag about it at the forums.

Also, your APH can very easily get more powerful than a K-modded soaker. I'm not thinking as powerful as a CPS gun with an inches thick PC (which is turning into a space issue), I'm talking with the potential to be that powerful. Just keep pumping. When I tested mine for range, I could have pumped it 20 or more times again. More pressure is created and therefore more power. Once your PCs are completely full of water they're be no room for the air, watch out for that.

I compared the 80 balloons to the 100 balloons, and I got 1/2 a second (about two taps) more with 80 balloons. I perfer long shot times over power, so I took of 20 balloons, and now it's back to 80 balloons.

And of your record range? What about that, Drew?

The range was 63-64 feet (at 100 balloons) depending on the amount of pumps.

My 21K is currently still at 105 although that is absurd and there's a good chance I'll lower it after seeing the stats. As I've said before, optimal power is at 65-80 balloons, and even narrower the best power is at 75-80. I will be raising my 72 balloon 21K to 77 or so, and my 105, if i do lower it, willl become 80.
