News flash - XP310 stands up to Monster X
It's true, I took on my dad with my monster X/ Cps 2000 hybrid, but we were both equally soaked by the end. The XP 310 has awesome range for ANY gun. I estimate my dad hit me at about 40-45 feet, with a coherent stream that got me pretty soaked. I have to say, although it is an XP, the XP310 can take on even the largest of blasters and win. It's one of my fave guns ever now that I've seen what it can do.
Me: I've actually been a sucker for a long time for the XP310. My main complaint with the stock blaster is that the choice of nozzles available just didn't have enough differences. I agree with the choice of having the smallest and largest settings, but the other two mid-settings should have been different. My own preference would have been one riot-blast type nozzle and one fan-setting.
I prefer the XP310 even over the Max-D6000, though the Max-D has a slight range advantage.

"monster X/ Cps 2000 hybrid"
If I recall correctly, Nick had taken a PC from a broken CPS2000 Mk2 and put it into the Monster X's housing. If I'm mistaken, correct me!

Yup you're right. I was looking at the Monster X's pressure chamber the other night and thinking 'how come the CPS2000 MK2 is so much mroe powerful?'. I was kinda dissappointed by the Monster's power, so i did summit about it and created this evil hybrid. My only complaint is they aint too streamlined for running with. And as for the person who mentioned a riot blast, is that just a huge jet of water? Cuz I modded mine to have a huge stream of water, which will totally drench you.

My brother has 2 XP 310s, and after using them I would have to say that I wouldn't use anything else in battle apart from the largest nozzle, which is around 2x. Anything smaller than that is just too small for a large war. I, personally, like my XP 110 better because it only has one nozzle setting to worry about (which is a useful 2x one), plus it has good stream velocity and apparently it stings when it hits, but I've never been shot by it so I can't say for sure. Does anyone know if the XP 110 actually stings? When people say that it stings, you mean it hurts a little, don't you? I haven't actually turned the nozzle towards me and soaked myself, but I've put my hand in front of the stream and it doesn't seem to have any more "sting" to it than the XP 310 does.
On a side note, I've noticed that people will often say "This soaker can take on a large CPS!" It's not the large CPS they're up against, it's the user. You could beat a squad of 5 hostiles that had a CPS 1700, CPS 3200, CPS 2700, CPS 2500 and Monster XL with only an XP 240 if you were skilled enough and/or your opponents were unskilled enough. So really, you can take on anyone with any soaker if you have enough skill.

An impressive mod indeed. Yes, I've often found that with enough skill or opponent's lack of skill, one can beat him (large CPS soaker) with an XP/MAX-D soaker. This especially applies during one-hit elimination games, where if an air pressure soaker has superior range, it has an advantage.

I don't know how many pumps it takes to be honest. I know that when you get near full pressure the check valve lets some pressure out, obviously the CPS2000 was allowed to be pressurized more. However, all you have to do is pump like crazy, then fire, before the check valve can get rid of your added pressure. Also, I haven't sawn the nozzle off one of my 2 Monster X's yet, but I did bore out the 11.5x on my Monster X / CPS 2500 hybrid, and it kicks when you fire it.
It really isn't that hard. Cutting out the valve takes 5 minutes, waiting for the glue to dry takes about 15. The whole proccess is very quick and if you can positively identify where to cut, there's no risk of breaking anything. Of course I'm not going to press you to do it, if you're not ready to check valve freeze then I as well as the other members will respect that decision. Although the potential power could be awesome.
