Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
Welcome to WWn! As mentioned on the SSC thread, that's quite a nice little homemade. I see you've shortened the 'barrel', changed the pump grip and epoxied the intake tube.
A solar shower makes an excellent backpack reservoir when mounted inside an old backpack. Instructions for this are here and here.
A version using plastic bottles can be found here.
If you're planning on making the backpack reservoir detachable, some form of valve (small lever ball valves are good) between the backpack and the connection to the blaster will allow you to fill up the backpack when it's not attached to the blaster (can sometimes make life easier when filling up the reservoir).
As a side note, you can embed the image into your posts. On the right hand side of the screen in photobucket, you'll see a little box entitled 'Links'. Open that an copy the 'IMG code'. Paste this code into the text of your post, and the image will appear when you click preview! (you may want to use smaller photos if you do this, as larger images don't always fit inside the window. 448x336 pixels should be about right.)
EDIT:
Yup, just like that!
(Although they are a bit large for the page, so viewers need to zoom out to see them properly! Uploading smaller 448x336 images to photobucket, and using those instead would be better).

Cool.

Very impressive! Nice work!
What soakers did you hack up to make it?
Also, it's hard to tell from that picture, do you have an actual trigger system or do you flick a ball valve like most homemades do?
My only recommendations are 1) don't k-mod too much (you don't want that thing exploding on you) and 2) give the pressure chamber some kind of case, just to be safe.

Looks like he has a pull valve on there.

Beware the PurpleWell, not that much soakage.
Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
Yeah, I see it now. I was looking at it in a backwardsy way, haven't done this in a while
Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
the pump and nozzle are from a broken storm monsoon force 4 (the PC had a severe leak), the bladder is from a CPS 2700 (valve casing literaly exploded inside the gun) and some pipe fittings both metal and PVC wich are not from a soaker. And the valve is not a pull valve it's a "push" valve because you push the little spring loaded button above the "barrel"mr. dude wrote:Very impressive! Nice work!

Interesting, same concept though. Where did you get it? Was that from the Storm gun too? There is some great ingenuity in the gun, great job!

Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
Ok I K modded it with 30 pearlized balloons last night so ill test it today. ok i tested it. now it gets 51 feet but i'm gonna widen the nozzle a but

Since you already have a CPS 2700, you should try putting the PC case on this. That would protect the bladder.

Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
yeah about that the PC case is gone.

Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
looks great!! You should widen the nozzle to like 8x though
Keep Soaking!

At that range, it should be able to handle more power. Don't over-do it though.

Yeah, that pump looks pretty wide. Where is the SC port?

Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
i take the intake tube and shove it into a garden hose and turn it on a bit

Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
I suppose that's one way of doing it!
Might be harder when you use the backpack reservoir though. You could always make your own QFD connector with hose fittings, so you can pump and SuperCharge at the same time (not sure why you might want to do that though!). I would have thought that a homemade QFD system would be much easier to build pressure with compared to simply 'shoving it into a garden hose', but do whatever works for you at the end of the day.

Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
Yeah, 30 balloons might be a little much if you're struggling to pump it. It looks like you got a good performance out of it without any k-mod, maybe drop the balloon count a little?
Re: my first homemade...thing YAY oh and im new
its ok i replaced the pump with a CPS 2700's pump witch I had to PRV freeze and its easier now.

Atta boy. That pump looked way too wide.
