CPS 1100 with 2 nozzles - k-mod done

Post by steelboot. » Fri Jun 26, 2009 3:01 pm

I decided to put the 1000's PC into the 2100. Everything went pretty smooth.

Then I decided to give my new 1100 more nozzles. I followed Ben's guide at SSC (http://www.sscentral.org/mods/multi-nozzle.html) and everything went pretty well. Though I haven't gotten around to measuring output on the new nozzles yet, I have measured exact range.

Nozzle 1
estimated 4x
range: shot 1: 46 ft.
shot 2: 49 ft.
shot 3: 51 ft.

size: 1/4 inch
output: 170mL/sec (5.66x)
shot time: 3 sec

Nozzle 2
estimated at least 10x
range: shot 1: 33 ft.
shot 2: 32 ft.
shot 3: 33 ft.Nozzle 2

size: 6/16 inch
output: 340mL/sec (11.33x)
shot time: 1.5 sec

No K-mod or anything? Pretty good results, then. I'd personally prefer a vanilla CPS 1000, though.

Any clue what the ranges were before the mod? Or if you didn't measure them, is there a qualitative difference?

Also, I think there was some other convention for naming these things...this water gun would be a 1021 or 2110 or something. Not that it really matters.

Actually, since the 1000 PC in the 2100 body was the first documented integration ever, by Nibordude of SoakerMedia, he pronounced it the 1100. For all other integrations, it goes PC, then host.

So for a 2700 PC in a 1500 body, it would be called a 2715.

About ranges: iSoaker measure the range at 36 feet and I think Larami said 35. That's a great improvement. I could tell from seeing it anyways. DX said in an older SoakerMedia thread that a 30 balloon k-mod on a 2100 was about equal to an 1100, minus the hardening of the pump. I have to ask, what is a vanilla CPS 1000?

By vanilla, he just means the original, untouched, stock blaster.

My 2100's PRV is a mess, but so is my 1000's. The 2100's can only take a few balloons before a really early PRV response, while the 1000 does the same thing, but somehow still pressurizes as the PRV is opening. (this was proven by shot testing) I'll need to take off some balloons off of that. Either way, I prefer k-modding over integration. There's simply too much to test and experiment with in an integration.

That sucks. C-A_99, have you ever done an integration? Because IMHO, integrations are far easier, faster, stronger, and more effective than k-modding.

K-modding

- pump stiffens a bit
- lower shot time
- (sometimes) improved range
- improved output
- extra pressure makes the PC more prone to breaking/popping

PC swap

- pump doesn't stiffen
- shot time remains constant, sometimes a slight dropoff
- improved range (10 - 15 ft.)
- (sometimes) improved output
- not prone to breaks/pop

My integration was perfect the first time. It didn't require ANY tweaking whatsoever. Whereas with a k-mod, I must have opened it up five times to change the amount of balloons because I wasn't happy with the results. But hey, everyone to their opinion.

As mentioned at SSC: a few of those points don't make sense. There's always a positive correlation between output, range, pump forces, and breakage.

An integration probably does eat up less volume than a K-mod. A dozen layered balloons probably take up more thickness than a single bladder of equivalent strength.

An integration will only give you a positive result if the new firing chamber is stronger than the old one. With that being said I am curious as to which CPS blaster with a light bulb shaped firing chamber has the most powerful rubber bladder. I was always under the impression that these were mass manufactured and that the differences in firing chamber capacity was due to the different sizes in the plastic shells surrounding the rubber bladders. I guess that this theory is wrong then. Good to know.We need to do more research on this. We need to test out which are actually the strongest.
As for the CPS 1000, I have always gotten a maximum range of around 40 feet out of my sister's gun. That sounds about right for the one that I brought to Vermin War 1 as well (ended up using something else though). Maximum range is measured as the distance from the end of the gun to the area of impact on the ground when fired at a 45 degree angle. Effective range is measured as the distance from the end of the gun to the area of impact on the ground when the blaster is fired parallel to the ground. My ranges are almost always higher than Isoaker's for some reason. It sounds odd that two people can test the same model and get test results that vary by over a meter.

See other post at SSC.

As for ranges, you have to be careful. Some guns tend to be fairly static, others are all over the place. Try having 6 CPS 2100s and all of them with different ranges from 28 - 37ft. My ranges used to always be higher than iSoaker's - now I measure with better precision and they come out roughly the same. A few are still very off [CPS 3000 in particular] which I think both of us should try again on :p

cps 2000 still dominates the 1100 (i have not heard of it before but whatever floats your boat)

it is probably bad range. compared to the 15m range of my 2000

its my fav gun

That's nice. Just try to avoid trolling. Posting everywhere that your new CPS 2000 is better than every other soaker (which it isn't) doesn't help anybody. It could be argued that the 1100 is superior to the 2000 because it can shoot as far, has a longer shot time, and is easier to manuever with. If you read my post you'd see the ranges were in the 15m area as well (50 ft. = 15m).

it could also be argued that since the 1100 is modified, i could also modify my 2000 and get 20 meter ranges and more output

i challenge you, go head to head against a 2000 and see who comes out wetter

Okay, you can have your opinions, I can have mine. But if you have nothing to say but that your CPS 2000 is the best gun ever, has no drawbacks, and that it could smoke any other soaker, be ready to take some argument.

dude i am your counter class

i am rocket operator, my role is to prevent you from getting in range even

if i start 40 meters away from you and you try to attack me you will get smoked before you are in range to fire at me. your guun is made to do everything ok but nothing well (like timings and output)

thus it is no big surprise i would smoke you in a water fight, i am simply my teams defense against heavy soldiers

40m is way out of the range of any stock water gun. Anyway, we all have opinions, so if you want to argue, send me a PM or keep it to yourself.
