Super Soaker Podcast

Post by teamfear » Mon Jun 29, 2009 7:06 pm

They recently started a podcast at nerfhaven for nerf and I think we should make one for soakerdom. We wouldn't have as much war related content but we could talk about a variety of categorys. I don't know that much about how to get the online voice chat running but I am looking into it.

That's a cool idea. I am going to check into the nerf podcast. I am planning a big water war later in the summer, that'd be a war to talk about.

This could be a cool idea; I'd be open to help with host of files/distribution and perhaps do the odd segment, but would need someone else to really be the main organizer of the podcasts. In the end, really depends how it's done.

Well we pick like 3 people to chat on it. I don't know alot about it but if someone knew how to set it up that would be sick. As for the nerf podcast, Its great if your into the NIC but its not really for me.

I don't know if enough goes on to get a podcast going, if we do, it probably wouldn't be able to happen that often. But really, there's nothing in a podcast you can't put in a news page anyways.

Same sentiments as C-A 99 – it's a difficult format to work with. How does Nerfhaven do it?

Sounds potentially interesting. If it's organized well it could be really cool.

NerfHaven's podcast has much random banter, though, most of the discussion is about Nerf. I stopped listening to them after the third or fourth one as I did not find them to be particularly interesting.

The water gun community has much less activity than the NIC, so I wouldn't expect much content for a podcast unless one was made every month or so.

Also, an interesting tidbit about the community's history: There was a podcast about water guns a few years back. Back when I was first getting into the community I remember reading about it. It was made back in 2002 by ShadowStrikePrime, who occasionally pops up here.

Edit: Don't get me wrong. I'd like to listen to something but I'm not certain we're a big enough community to do it.

I think once a month could be possible. I'd like to listen to that podcast. Any chance of finding it or is it lost to time.

I was originally thinking once a month, or every other month even. That would be cool. There's definitely not enough info for a weekly podcast. I remember SSP's podcast now that you mention it. Does anyone have that on archive by chance?

I have found what I believe is SSP's podcast in my archive. I have no idea where I originally got these but here they are: http://sscentral.org/images/ssp/

Ben, you continue to amaze me.

I listened to part of the first podcast, but found it a little weird. Maybe the format would work better with interviews or something of that sort.

I agree. Discussions between members on the podcast would be amazing.
