Old Soakers at BIG "K"

Post by XP270 » Thu Jun 26, 2008 7:35 pm

I went to my local K-Mart today and surprsingly they had a totally full stock of Soakers, however some weren't everyday soakers. I found two very old soakers and the newer ones two. I bought a NI: SS100 and a CPS 1200. I went to the Manager and asked why such old Water Guns remained in stock and he said that these were in the back of the warehouse and there were only these two. So they put the out for the original MSRP, $15.00 and $25.00.

0_o Thats pretty strange. Perhaps I could test my luck sometime with this, but its pretty doubtful. But a soaker sitting in the back of the warehouse for over 10 years? o_0

I should have asked if there were more.

Wow, great finds!

When I found my NIB XP backfire at my local Zellers last year I asked if there were more old ones like this, and unfortunately there were no other. When I saw the CPS 1200 on the back of it's package I was like: «why not this one instead?!» :oo:

Seems like you've got luckier than me! :soaked:

I can't believe that I opened them but however I'm going to put them into good use. I'm off to buy 10 balloons!

I'd suggest getting a pack of at least 30, in case you need extra for other guns that happen to be sitting around, or if you get any more.

On the other hand, if you happen to get a soaker whose PRV is... weird, a k-mod won't really work. This is pretty rare, though I'm not exactly sure how it occurs.

There are 4 marks of 1200, of which 2 have strong PRVs, so you've got a 50-50 shot of your's being able to handle a good amount of balloons.

Hmm, well that 2100 I have can't even properly handle 5. Yet without them, it goes up to about 20 pumps just like any normal soaker.

I'm guessing the differences are in how the valves operate. One operates at a specific pressure and the other operates once the PC actually hits the walls of the case, causing the water to have nowhere to go but to the PRV. Is this a reasonable idea?
