You might want to check stores like Wal Mart or similar stores to see if they have Water Warriors water guns. If they do, look for the new 2007 Orca. I have heard amazing things about it, and it should work well to suit your needs. I believe it shoots about 40 feet. Otherwise, i might recommend a Blazer, another Water Warriors gun, but slightly older than the Orca Have Fun!

Why don't you have a look at them, nearly no guns have ever surpassed the CPS line other than homemades and modded CPS guns. The CPS line was the peak of super soaker technology and design and is very unlikely to ever return again. Some newer guns may use the same CPS method of shooting, but aren't as powerful, don't deal with as much water, and generally have less range. The Hydro Power series of the WW line (including the Orca obviously) are generally the best you can get without going on ebay. They shoot farther than the current soakers with better nozzles. They're not as powerful as pretty much any completely CPS based guns, but unless you can do some nozzle modifications, they have the best range of all the current guns from stores.

I would recomend the 2500, 1500 and 1200. The 2500 is nice with good range and capacity, but requires a lot of pumps and can be heavy for younger people. The 1500 is a great gun all around, but can still be heavy for young people. The 1200 is one of my favorite guns and has good range and medium output.
When I say "young people" I mean ages less than 10-12.
All these guns can be found on This website except for the 1500.

Go to the "Armoury" (not in the forums) here at iSoaker.com and look at the Reviews for the Constant Pressure series. Good reviews of all the CPS water guns.
CPS 1000/1200/2100 - small, light water guns, decent range. Note that "small" or "decent" CPS water guns are still "medium-sized" and "good" compared to other types.
CPS 1500/1700/2700 - medium-sized, also with decent range
CPS 2000/2500 - most powerful, most range, medium-sized
CPS 3000/3200 - backpack soakers, decent range as well
These guns are all strong in fights. However, you have to get them from eBay, garage sales, or friends, as they're no longer in production. They rack up insane prices though - usually $50-$250 (depends on which one you're getting) this time of year, $5-$50 in the off-season.
If you can't afford CPS water guns (I can't), consider getting current water guns from the Water Warriors line.
EDIT: Ah dinnae see fahrrest-fighta's post, cap'n. Nae mattah. :p

The Orca edges the Tiger Shark in capacity, which may or may not be important depending on the way you fight. I find it nice to have more water, as you never know when a quick battle might drag on into a long engagement.
The vertical balance on the Orca is not that great, the Tiger Shark appears to be better balanced and a bit more maneuverable. Then again, if the Tiger Shark's trigger grip is too small, I would go with an Orca.
