While thinking about useful types of articles that would be beneficial to those newer to water warfare, I came up with this idea of the "10 Questions" article series. Instead of writing about tips or tactics or such, the idea behind this article is simply to present different member's ideas on what sort of questions people should ask themselves.

For this thread, the theme is buying a stock soaker. What are the top ten things you think a water warrior should consider before purchasing a stock soaker?

Side note: For the purpose of this thread and article, we are assuming a person has already considered, but opted against building their own soaker. If you cannot come up with 10 questions, list as many as you can. However, lists longer than 10 will be cut off after the 10th entry when posted on iSoaker.com.

I'll post my own thoughts on this topic in due time.

1. What is my spending range?
2. What situation am I looking to use my soaker in?
3. What are its strengths and weaknesses?
4. If it does have significant problems, can these be improved or fixed?
5. Is the range suitable for my area and playing style?
6. What is the soaker potential for possible improvement if it is underpowered for its size or just in general?
7. Has it got good power and output for its size?
8. How much does it cost and is it worth it?
9. How available is it to where I am located?
10. How does it fur with other Super Soaker's of its size, bigger and smaller in terms of practicality and performance?

If these are good, then I might write up each one in detail and put it up as an article on AquaFlash.

@Aqua_Flash: those look pretty good. You might want to edit #10 to say "fare against" as opposed to "fur with".

As for resulting articles, I was initially thinking of coming up with 10 questions and answering them in an article format, but decided instead to get more people's input into what they think is important to consider, then adjust what the "Top 10" questions end up being.

More replies and question sets are definitely desired in these threads.

Anyone else have input on this? The value of such an article lies in multiple viewpoints. If this is not available, I'll be forced to abandon this article concept.

3 How do you want to use this soaker?
4.Do you want to mod this gun?
5.What are the stats of this gun?
6.If Your'e buying from eBay-is the seller reliable?

Nice article! Glad this thread helped inspire new content creation! Good stuff!

As for this thread, I need to figure out what to do with it versus my original intention.

While the topic certainly has merit, I think it won't go very far though as a thread as the most important questions have already been stated by Aqua_Flash and forestfighter7. With regards to stock soakers, there aren't too many truly meaningful questions one can pose, apart from the ones already mentioned. One would simply move further away from the core topic in search of new questions, which would defeat the purpose of the original post a bit.

One thing I do pay attention to when evaluating a new gun is whether the grip is comfortable and big enough (Buzz Bee Toys has a nasty habit of making the grip to small). That is something Hasbro at least got right the majority of times :D.
