Your Choice of Primary Over The Years

Post by jja » Wed Feb 25, 2015 9:23 am

I was on Isoaker.net recently looking at the blasters released each year, and deciding which i would have used as a primary, if only blasters from that year were available (not what i actually used). I started with 2003 and went up to 2014. I would be interested to see how your picks differ from mine. Are there any years where several good primaries were available, or any where only one good option or none etc? For simplicity modifications are not allowed -stock blasters only. I have not used many different blasters, so my decisions were mostly based Isoaker's statistics.

My Picks
2003 Water Warriors Blazer
2004 Water Warriors Piranha
2005 Water Warriors Blazer (re-release)
2006 Super Soaker Flashflood (max-infusion)
2007 Water Warriors Orca
2008 Super Soaker Hulk Gamma strike (Overload re-release)
2009 Water Warriors Blazer (re-released again)
2010 Water Warriors Gorgon (hydropower version)
2011 Water Warriors Gorgon (air-pressure version)
2012 Water Warriors Colossus
2013 Water Warriors Python 2
2014 Water Warriors Charger

i found 2008 to be the hardest year to decide for, as all of the options were not great. In my opinion 2008 is the worst year for water blasters from both providers. but deciding the worst year is not the point of this, what would you pick?

2008 is easy! The Orca MK2 with the top-facing reservoir cap. 2014 was the worst year by far.

2003 WW Blazer MK1
2004 CPS 2100 (not technically released here, but was available in retail stores)
2005 WW Blazer MK2
2006 MI Flashflood
2007 WW Orca MK1
2008 WW Orca MK2
2009 WW Vindicator
2010 WW Gorgon HP version
2011 WW Gorgon
2012 WW Colossus
2013 WW Python 2
2014 Sadly, the WW Charger
2015 WW Gorgon 2

At some point, you're just going to have to stick to water balloons, water bottles with holes poked in the cap or without the cap, and similar equipment. Stream Machines seem to be chugging along though, as well, so I'd probably rig something from that if only retail blasters available that year and no homemades were allowed.

You Weren't clear about new releases or if it could have still been available that year so here it goes

2003 CPS 2100
2004 CPS 2100
2005 WW Blazer Mk2
2006 WW Scorpion
2007 WW Tiger Shark (I would have picked the Orca but Mk1's had issues with air in the shots)
2008 WW Orca Mk2
2009 WW Vindicator
2010 WW Gorgon HP
2011 Gorgon AP
2012 Gorgon AP
2013 Python 2
2014 Python 2
2015 ?
If you ever bother reading these, I worry for your mental sanity. :oo:

I'm just going to include new releases and re-releases, because I don't know what all was available when. Basically I'm just choosing from what's listed on isoaker.com. (*pulls up site*)

2003: Blazer
2004: Piranha
2005: Blazer '05
2006: MI Flash Flood
2007: Orca
2008: sheeet, I guess I'll have to go with the Hulk blaster. Though if the Orca was indeed re-released then, iSoaker should add it to the database (and it would obviously be my pick).
2009: Vindicator, but not before I try out a Pulse Master.
2010: Sphinx
2011: Gorgon AP
2012: Colossus
2013: Python 2
2014: Charger
2015: Steady Blast, probably (anyone else think that's a dumb name?)

Does anyone even own a Pulse Master? I never hear anything about it, though it does have good stats. I'd like to see how it stands up against the other heavy-hitting Water Warriors.

We probably won't be back, but the legacy lives on.

thank you all for participating, sorry i wasn't exactly clear about what to do. I went about it in the exact same way Seal did. I was aware there was a Orca re-release (was it called the Riptide? or was that only in the UK) but i didn't know when it was released so was left with the hulk blaster. As it was 2008 i have to agree 2014 seems the most lack luster, Although like the Charger (based on what i have read) it is the weakest of my picks.

I think most of the blasters people picked out perform Improvised blasters and water balloons. Would you care to share your picks?

I have one that a neighbor found at the dump and gave to me. It's not functional, but I think it just needs the pump rebuilt. The largest nozzle is large, like in the 6x neighborhood, but I don't think the shot time is long enough for that to be of much use.
