Re-Branding Soakers

Post by GameGear360 » Wed Aug 28, 2013 5:20 pm

Hello all, I don't really know how to explain this. This is something everyone knows about. For every new series since the introduction of SoakerTag, minus Aquashock, several older blasters will also re-appear under the new label (an example of this is the CPS 4100 appearing as a SoakerTag blaster). This is very difficult to keep up with, trying to find out what blasters have made what appearance under what label. I keep an archive of box pics which help me out, however there's some missing links. I can't find a box of the Max-D 3000 under the SoakerTag Elite line, nor can I find a Max Infusion Splashfire. It's things like these that are really complicating this whole thing. Maybe you could help me out here, help provide some info why certain blasters get releases and whatnot, and I'd be able to show some box pics I've collected that might be of interest.

I'll try to upload some sort of graph explaining my findings, once I find a format that works. Until then, all I have is a link of what I've found so far (http://rlt.wikia.com/wiki/File:Graph.odt). It would be appreciated if someone could perhaps help me out, like I said I might have some rare boxshots in return. Thanks.

Also, has anyone ever heard of the 1997 Target Set? It's something I've never seen discussed about before anywhere.

I have a super soaker target and the logo looks like it's from 97 if that's what you're talking about.

If the picture loads, that's what it looks like.

That is so cool! I want one. Wonder how many points you would get for knocking it over?
...Although, I think the novelty would wear off pretty quick.

I find it strange how no one has even heard of this. I'm just hoping there are people here who have heard of it so we can all get more info on it. I have back shots of the box too, if anyone's interested.

This item was undoubtedly a Target special product. If you have the back of the box pic, it'll at least let us know when this thing was released. It says "Pump Action Water Soaker" on the box, so I don't believe the blaster's performance was particularly great, but it would be neat to actually see/test the actual item. Thanks for sharing the info!

I actually have that target at home. That's it. I didn't know it came with a little pistol though. Bought it off ebay used.

This item was probably released before I really started collecting things so never saw it nor heard of it. Being a "Target Exclusive", it also does not appear in older Larami catalogs. I'm sure there are a whole bunch of items made for various stores (e.g. Toys R Us, Target, etc.) that were re-branded as well, but I never considered trying to track all of that down.

This should hopefully work.

That's pretty cool. It's like a restyled SS 25/XP 15.
