I went to the New topic creation page and I couldnt create a poll.

I vote for the Python 2 as well, based on what others have said. (I've never used either.)

I will do that from now on, but I cannot figure out how to delete posts.

When you are logged in, just go to the post you want to edit/delete, there should be a button right about here^
next to where it says ! "quote , to the left of your avatar.
Either click the X to delete the post, or click on Edit and once there, you should go to the edit post screen, where your text should be right underneath the subject line and a little box that says Delete post:
