Reviews of Nerf Super Soaker products on iSoaker.com

With the apparent "Nerfing" of performance and usefulness of the blasters in the Nerf Super Soaker line, I'm seriously considering no longer reviewing any and all new water blasters in future years. While I don't want to give up all hope for the line, unless things show notable improvements, I'm thinking that I'd only review a new blaster if it at least uses air or an elastic pressurization system or if it looks like it is a more potent piston-based water blaster (at least performing on par with a Super Soaker Vaporizer). The Nerf Super Soaker motorized line lacks any real power and the 2013 piston-based blasters tested so far are faring on the low side, even for a piston-based blaster. While their style and grips are well-designs, a comfortable-to-hold dud of a water blaster is still a dud. While I try to remain optimistic, I also need to be realistic and focus my energies reviewing water blasters that have a better chance of proving useful in the field.
Granted, what ends up happening really depends on what the 2014 Nerf Super Soaker line looks like, but the past few years of developments don't offer much reason to believe things will make a sudden improvement.

i am going to have to agree with you that if the current trend continues with the 2014 line, reviewing should be discontinued. However, the stats can be useful for those considering buying new blasters, of course, i haven't had to direct anyone i know to a nerf review for a while, as i have made sure that everyone i know buys water warriors. If they are more potent blasters a review could be nice. Also, i am currently writing a letter to Hasbro as a school project attempting to nudge them in a better direction. In said paper i will be using statistics from iSoaker.com nerf super soaker pages. Again I agree with you, yet even bad statistics can be useful.

Nemesis, that is a good idea. I don't know how they will respond, if they do. But I would seriously discontinue reviewing them, because they are so bad even for piston blasters. You can still have a page for them, just not a review. You can say, "Due to previous years of Hasbro completely messing up their over-sized, overpriced squirt pistols, I have decided not to purchase this year's line of products.
We should really show up to this:

Show up with heavy CPS weaponry, nothing lower than a 1500, everyone dressed in camouflage, and send them to the hills. We could drive in on the back of a pickup, everyone just go in and SOAK THEM ALL!! We would even show up in the video! Tell everyone to buy Water Warriors. Knock some sense into Hasbro.

'You know, it just might be worth the drive to do that. I don't think any of the people in that video who said that they were "Super Soaked" even looked wet. They probably have some rule about how it can only be a Nerf Super Soaker product though. If so we could still use Hydrocannons, as big a fail as that gun is, we could probably own the noobs there even if they had 1500s!
As far as reviewing NSS blasters go, I would discontinue reviewing them. There is really no point, you might as well start reviewing squirt guns. Every gun says the range it gets on the box, so just look up a picture of the box on Google and unless it shoots over 30 feet don't even bother. Even if they make a gun with a 50x nozzle it wouldn't do anyone much good if it only goes 15-20ft like they do now.

A lot of people visit isoaker. Hasbro might even notice. One can hope.

I should note that while opting to reduce or pass on reviewing Nerf Super Soaker products is far from an easy decision for me. Let's face it, without the original Super Soaker brand, I wouldn't have built Aquatechnology/iSoaker.com and this community would be a very different place. I've tried to offer suggestions, constructive criticism, and ample feedback to my contacts at Hasbro regarding the Super Soaker/Nerf Super Soaker line, but I often wonder whether the messages are no longer ending up getting to the key people. These days, the whole design of the water blasters seem to have fallen into the hands of the Nerf Gun design group - great for styling, but they seem to be lacking in knowledge on what makes a good water blaster.
I do hope things show signs of improvement for 2014, though. Once I finish reviewing the 2013 Nerf Super Soaker line as well as the 2013 Water Warriors line, I'll be creating a few more articles on my thoughts on the whole stock water blaster situation.

I'd say, if the 2014 line is equal or worse to this year's, then you can start treating Nerf like Banzai and other off-brand blasters. Heck, it's not even really "Super Soaker" anymore, as it's now under the Nerf brand, and all the original engineers or whatever went to BBT. So while it might be nostalgic in name, it's technically a completely different company.
It might be a good idea to at least have pages for the blasters, just with a bit of information, not reviews (don't you already do that with some blasters?). Remember to make it
real clear why you haven't reviewed the blaster in question.

Scott, they were having an all-out soakfest in the parking lot. That's outside the event. We can come armed with a Monster XL, a SS 300, a CPS 2000, cps 3000, 1500, 2500, 2700, etc. Everyone with camo on, drive in everyone packed in the back of a black pickup. I don't think we should use camoed blasters, because then they can't recognize the same blasters on the internet. Anyways, it would be like a rebellion of the newest oversized squirt pistols that came out recently.
Lol, it's like I'm planning it like it's actually going to happen. But hey, you never know....

I think the best solution is to continue listing and cataloging the blasters while avoiding any waste of time/money by officially reviewing them. Of course, this will depend on user submissions to provide pictures, if we want any. (Although that's easy to get photos that we can call our's: just snap a pic w/ phone in store.)
Each blaster page ought to, of course, provide the reason the particular blaster is not reviewed, which is already done anyways.

For cataloging purposes, unless things really devolve further (i.e. they end up only pushing out trigger-based squirt pistols), I'll be keeping pages for known models with pictures of them if available. Thoughts or notes on why a particular model is not being reviewed will definitely be noted along with thoughts or any information available on how a particular unreviewed model is said to perform. Other stats would be pulled from the official website if available (e.g. capacity).
