Hypothetically speaking, how much would you be willing to pay for a new CPS4100-type soaker (in USD)?

Use CPS4100 review for the general hypothetical stats of a new soaker.

Just curious what sort of budget the membership has for a larger soaker. I was thinking about suggesting that it were a CPS2500, but if a larger soaker were to appear next year, I feel a jump back up to CPS4100 level wouldn't be unreasonable. If it jumps higher, that'd be sweet. Then again, there is currently no guarantee that there'd be a jump at all just yet.

This thread is for a purely hypothetical soaker at the moment.

I'd say that I might be willing to pay up to around the $40 mark, since that would roughly equate to £20 - £25. I'd prefer to pay £15 - £20, though.

$36-40, I have a bigger budget, I don't care if its a bit overpriced, as long as its a good soaker, then that's fine with me.

Would I buy another soaker is the better question, but if I were going to, $30-$40 does not seem unreasonable depending on the gun. That said, the Blazer and Lightning/Pirahna are, IMO, better than the 4100, and I can pick those up for $10-$25 depending on the model and time of year.

For the purpose of this thread, let's not go into what soakers could be potentially better. I chose the CPS4100 simply as an example of a larger CPS-based soaker and the 'last' of the larger soakers seen on the market. Expecting a jump to the size of a CPS2000 would be a little too much; the CPS4100 is just a little larger than the Blazer. Of course, if more power could be packed into a Blazer-sized soaker, that be good.

In terms of time of year, this is for 'typical' product release cycle.

I'd pay $36-$40, IF it had a durable trigger. :goofy: The 4100 is also kind of big for what it has in it. It could be made CPS-1000 sized and have a nozzle-selector.

For a blaster with CPS 1500 stats, I'd pay $40-$55.

And, for a blaster with 2500 stats and a 1500-sized PC (PC size is the weakness of the 2500), I'd pay $50-$70. Of course, I wouldn't expect or need the 20x nozzle.

This is the kind of topic I've deen waiting for.

I voted 31$ to 35$ but, 36$ to 40$ would probably be my maximum amount that I would be willing to pay for a gun CPS 4100 size.

For me, the size doesn't matter, I would pay relative to the power and/or range of said soaker, as well as relative to the comparison of what I can make against what the company is offering. For example, if the gun costs $40, I would compare what I can make or mod for $40, if what I make is better, I wouldn't buy the stock gun.

But if the stock gun were, say, $25, and it is better than what I can make for $25, I would likely go ahead and buy.

$35.00 US max probably if its retail. As for the CPS 4100 itself, probably $15 US, and not more.

I voted $31-$35, keeping in mind a soaker of 4100 caliber. If it was better than that, I would pay up to $40, or even a bit more.

Someone please make one like this!!

One thing to take note about what the CPS 4100 really is. It is a CPS 1000 with a nozzle selector, a slightly smaller tank, and 5 feet shorter range. With that in mind, I might only pay $30-$35.

Some would be willing to pay beyond $50 for a CPS4100-type soaker? Retailers and manufacturers would undoubtedly love such individuals, but I fear the average consumer doesn't have the same amount of spending limits.

$21 to $25 for me. I can wait for good guns if I have to. Heck, I've wanted a CPS 1500 for about three years now. Just gotta keep on waiting...

Yup, definitely. Especially with the drought of bigger soakers nowadays, I would definitely pay the price of one or two videogames for a chance to add some heavy equipment to my arsenal.

Consider the fact that you can find MI Arctic Shocks for around $20 now. Do you consider a 4100 class weapon to be at least 3x better than an Arctic Shock? My answer: Hell yea.

Shhhhh! They're watching! We're talking about new, stock soakers, not long-lost legends of the past. No more than $35.

@Dux: I'd buy the stock gun rather then build one. I think the stock guns are more appealing. Give 'em a chance!

Oh shoot, didn't see how old this post is. Sorry. :(

Normally that is the case. However, for me:

Post 2002 stock guns:
Up to 35ft range
Up to 11x output
Normal stream speed
Normal sting factor
Max Power: Can get you wet/sting a little

My little creations [especially the water cannons:
Over 60ft range
Over 100x output
Wicked fast stream speed
Closer to "Bruise" factor than sting
Max Power: can soak your whole body in the blink of an eye if you aren't blown over first

The average range of my arsenal is in the 50s, and the average output is about 30-40x. Buying stock guns almost always brings my arsenal stats down... :p
