The CPS 2500 is lighter, smaller, has a larger PC, equal reservoir size, longer shot time at comparable nozzle sizes, and a higher range curve than a Monster X. Now, that is against the original version. The 2002 version of the Monster X has no performance stats listed, but everything else is the same as the original. Based on that, the 2500 is "better" in almost everything by the numbers, although which one is more effective will come down to what you're used to using.

well, im "used" to using light soakers like the sneak attack, but i want to get used to using big heavy soakers like the monster X. in other words, im a N@@B at using big ones cause i only had one cps 2500 and it broke like a month after getting it.

Pretty much anything that says CPS or Monster on it is great, although different ones are worth different prices.

Hopefullly you kept your 2500. We could help you fix it. If you're used to light guns you should probably start off with a smaller CPS like a 1000, 1200, or 2100. Alternately, you could get a Water Warriors Vindicator or Tigershark.

nope, i threw it away, cause at the time i was young and didn't know how fixable water guns are. i regret it now cause it really was a great gun, and certainly would have been worth fixing.

About the same boat I was in; now I know better then to throw the broken ones away, so they kind of pile up since I am bad at fixing them, lol!
I haven't used a Monster X but as far as the Vindicator vs. the CPS 2500 go, for you it sounds like you'd want the Vindicator since it is a lighter gun with similar performance. Good luck finding it though, I've been trying to buy a 3rd one and I can't find one anywhere. At least the 2500 you can find for $80-100 on E-Bay. You can find the Vanquisher on some some sites though, (at least on Amazon it is the Hydro Power version to boot!)
I am starting to think not all guns are the same though, isoaker reported the 10x to shoot farthest on the 2500, on mine, the 5 and 10x go about 40ft and the 20x goes 45ft (I haven't measured it, but during multiple demonstrations for friends I shot it from the porch, the 5 and 10 hit mid street, and the 20 hits the far curb).

is the 3200 better than the 2500?

On my 2500 all nozzles shoot 45 ft, there is no difference in range haha. At least there is a lot of consistency in max range, if not among what nozzle gets that range.
3200s are a lot more variable than 2500s. I owned 2 and they both shot 45 ft. Great guns, and I'd use them over my 2500 - cuz of superior capacity and shot time and I am strong enough to run with it. There's no easy answer to "which is better?" This is the simplest I can put it: IF you can find a high end 3200 and you are strong enough to run with it, the 3200 is better. In all other situations the 2500 is better.
