Nerf Super Soaker Electrostorm

Post by isoaker » Wed Oct 19, 2011 2:40 pm

Don't have much other info on this one apart from its name. Seems like Hasbro is into "storm" names these days.

Could it just be an alternate name for the Lightning Storm?

I think names need to be proportional to the soaker's ability. For instance, Tornado Strike seems more intimidating than Hydro Cannon.
Perhaps a rescaling is necessary? Introducing the new Super Soaker Peewee Trickle!

I have a feeling it will be a smaller blaster based on some early pricing information around, but am not 100% sure.

Lightning Storm with ammo drum is 30.95 where as the electro storm is 13.25. The Tornado strike is 26.95 on the 2nd page. Scatter Blast is 13.95. High Tide/Point break is 8.95.

http://www.spielwarenoase.com/index.php ... tml&page=4
On this site, the Electrostorm is 12.70 Euros. Lightning Storm with ammo clip is 28.50 Euros. Thunderstorm is 18.40 Euros.

13.25 = 18.32 US = 18.53 CN
12.70 = 17.56 US = 17.75 CN

I REALLY like the styling, but it looks battery powered as there is no visible pump handle. It looks like you fill it up on the bottom/front of the gun. The question is, what is the small orange mini nozzle? Is this a double barreled pistol? It looks too small for that, but I could be wrong. Also, the refill cap looks much more comfortable (like on my Shotblast) than older guns - but style and feel is a distant second to performance, and I don't have much faith in electronic blasters.

*edit*

If we had Super Soaker styling with Water Warriors performance (even if it's sub CPS 1500/1700/2500) I'd be VERY happy.

Looks like a clip would fit perfectly...but no, they have to abandon their own hat and go with a small fixed reservoir.

Also, based on the side and design, I'm seeing this replacing the Point Break/High Tide.

I just hope it will have more power than an SS 50, haha.

The orange thing below the nozzle is probably just a decoration.

Quite likely as style seems more important than performance nowadays. Such a shame, Bruce D'Andrade would be turning in his grave. :sad_pacing:

Looks like I was right... And that's not a good thing. Well, if it's squirt pistol size with T-storm performance, it could perhaps be a good last-resort blaster that you'd hide in your pocket. Or maybe a heavy weapon in a squirtgun battle. Or maybe... Aw, forget it.

I must say though, that's probably one of the coolest-looking water guns I've ever seen.

If it's that small, it might be decent for Assassins.

To me it just looks like another T-Storm. 2011 Shot Blast is still the coolest in my opinion.

It indeed looks like a smaller version of the Tstorm without a removable clip. As a real eletrical storm is like a thunderstorm without the rain, perhaps this blaster is like the Tstorm, but reduced output. :goofy:

First, Hasbro tried to phase out all the decent primaries, and now they're pushing their last decent sidearms out. Kind of sad really.

Only if it fires the moment you pull the trigger. In my (limited) experience motorised blasters suffer a slight lag, and a noisy lag at that thanks to the motor. That'll make the difference between a stealth kill and your target diving for cover and returning fire.
