The WW Scorpion. - What is the general opinion of this gun?

Post by FinalFantasizer » Sun May 28, 2006 8:23 pm

I just recently saw this gun in the iSoaker listings, and upon seeing the 2006 release date, I thought "Wow, what a beast! This is the best gun of '06 by far!". Can anyone provide me with a quick review?

I usually play in lightly forested suburban areas. My game mode of choice is Assault (see Trainig Grounds).
I am a pretty slow runner, but I can almost make up for that with dodging ability, technological superiority, and use of tactics. Considering these conditions and my current arsenal, would this be a good gun to buy?

Well, it is a fun gun to use, mainly because it's so loud that people get the impression that it sucks, then they get a 5x in the face. It's probably unable to match up to your current CPS's, except maybe the splashzooka and possibly the FF, but it has a good chance of decimating your air pressure guns.
If you don't mind it being loud, go ahead and get one.
PS. It's actually pretty small and light, so beast isn't the best term to use

Is the pumping mechanism really that loud?

I personally don't like the Scorpion. I mean don't you think part of the fun in water warfare is pumping? But I've never used one, and this is a mere first-glance opinion.

Yes, pumping is definitely a part of water wars, but having a pumpless sidearm of that size would be awesome. I stopped bringing more than one soaker into battle long ago because....

1) Having 2+ guns that require pumping is a waste of energy and water.
2) My two other pumpless guns don't have enough range to stand up to the weaponry that my opponents use.

If the pumping mechanism does what it's supposed to do, this gun may well be the sidearm to have.

If you make straps for it, it should be one of the best if not the absolute best thing to dual wield. On it's own it's still really good.
