Super Charger 500 AP or Cps

Post by TheColton » Wed Jun 15, 2011 8:43 pm

I heard that the super charger 500 with a pink recevoir was an AP gun. Does anyone have any proof or internals to show. Maybe hasbro made a mistake calling it an AP weapon.

It's CPS. The design wouldn't work practically as air pressure either so I doubt they released some mysterious air pressure version of the blaster.

The boxes have had a history of incorrect descriptions. There were some, or all 2100 boxes that listed "air pressure" as a feature in the back of the box.

Thanks CA99, are you 100 percent sure. There's one on ebay and I don't want an AP gun.

BTW, is there going to be a war in the Bay Area this summer.

Thanks.

The SC 500 is definitely CPS. If the description says that it's air pressure, it's not surprising that the seller made a mistake.

The SC500 was one of my all-time favourite soakers; definitely CPS though I believe a bunch of them had "Air Pressure" on their stickers. Though my SC500 says "Constant Pressure", my SC600 has the incorrect "Air Pressure"-labeled sticker on it. Both the SC500 and SC600 are CPS-based. Power from the SC500 is along the lines of a solid XP, but was still a lot of fun to use. I miss using it, but it now resides in deep storage for me so no quick access at the moment.

mine just looks the same is CPS, of course. Never seen or heard of one that uses air-pressure.

I think you can buy it without worrying about CPS or not. It uses CPS for sure ;)

On the other hand, if that somehow does manage to be an air-pressure-version, that'd make it very unique and potentially of high value to collectors of obscure items. 99% sure all SC500s are CPS-based, but I won't discount an odd possibility that an air pressure version may have been experimented with.

Perhaps the graphical designers just did a lazy job when working on the stickers. The SC400 is the only known SC in the entire series to be air pressure and not CPS, and before the sticker scratched away, I recall that it was very similar to, if not almost exactly the same as (except for the number, obviously) the sticker on the SC600 that iSoaker has.
