Best Single Stream Accuracy
Best Single Stream Accuracy
I am trying to find out which water gun has the BEST SINGLE STREAM ACCURACY? I am looking for something preferably battery powered.

Re: Best Single Stream Accuracy
The best motorized blaster is the Water Warriors Tarantula. It does have smooth streams, unlike the Thunderstorm and other older water guns.

I have searched and searched for the Water Warriors Tarantula and everyplace I look says "no longer available". Do you know of a place to purchase one?

If you don't know of a place; do you know of a water gun comparable to the Tarantula?

The Tarantula and Scorpion are the best of battery powered but are long gone. The only readily available battery powered blaster today is the Thunderstorm but its performance is just slightly better than the average finger-powered squirt gun. You will want pump-powered blasters as they have historically always outclassed battery powered and have always been more practical. If you manage pumping correctly, it isn't so bad.
"Accuracy" is not a very useful term for water guns, and that's because there are other more important issues; in particular is stream lamination. If you haven't read articles on this (which can be found on Super Soaker Central as well as at iSoaker.com), basically, stream lamination is how consistent and clean a stream is, which determines how well it handles air resistance. A well designed nozzle will ALWAYS produce consistent streams in a straight line, which is in effect, accurate. (In that its direction is always consistent and aiming it is predictable.) As for spread (another way to measure accuracy), air resistance will take its toll on water streams and cause them to spread out after a distance. However, standard streams are always designed to avoid spread as much as physics will allow for. The riot blast (a different type of nozzle and shot) on the other hand, does just the reverse; it spreads as much water as possible over a large area, almost like shotgun pellets fanning out. (Though shotgun pellets do not fan out anywhere near as much as any water stream does.)

Re: Best Single Stream Accuracy
Anyone here tried those Saturator-brand water guns? They are motorized, but may perform slightly better than the Super Soaker Thunderstorm.
When it comes to motorized water blasters, current options are extremely limited and none perform as well as the water blasters you can pump-to-pressurize. As CA99 noted, single-stream accuracy is not a very useful, or even accurate term for choosing a water gun. In one sense, the accuracy of a water gun depends on the user. If you're really talking about stream consistency or stream performance, that would involve stream size and, really, stream power and lamination.

It does seem to perform better, but the stream is still broken up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFargZDzvN4

CPS 2000... or Storms or Max Ds. Those have good stream consistency... but those are not battery powered. Stream consistency is the closest thing I can think of to accuracy.
