Lanard The Blaster

Is it any good? It looks like a piston, but somebody here said it had a 5x stream. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I think Cantab said he thinks it's a good piston gun. I doubt it has a 5x stream though.

For those unfamiliar with this one, here's a link to a product page on Amazon.com. At least, I think this is the blaster you are referring to.

I have no personal experience with it and haven't seen it in real life so I have no idea how large the nozzle opening is. Would love to hear from someone who has actual experience with this one.

Lanard usually makes decently designed piston pumpers. I got a Blastmaster 660 from a friend, and it seems to be fairly well design.

Of course, the 660 is only good by piston standards. It will become an important component of soakfest games where I separate the water weaporny by soakability. (i.e. soakfest infection or soakfest 1-flag CTF)

Thats the one I am thinking of, Isoaker. It isn't even listed on your website :(
If I end up getting one, I will do a good review of it. I chiefly participate in small soakfests, and the most powerful thing in use is my vanquisher. Unless it can stand up to at least a stock MD6k, I probably won't get it. Unless I need something to get $25 for free shipping.

Indeed, it is missing, but my excuse is that it's darn hard to keep track of all the models of even just the more notable brands of water blasters on the market, especially ones I don't see in local retail stores. :goofy: If I've never seen it (reality or virtually), I won't be able to list it.

That's where members come in. I'll add in stock water blasters so long as some sort of image is available or, better yet, if someone is willing to write up a review on something!

Soakernerd, no piston pumper can stand up to an MD6k.

I disagree as usual. I could probably go against a MD6k with a Sneak Attack or "The Blaster." I even did pretty well against a CPS 1200 using a Shark because I just kept shooting at him while he was trying to pump it up.

Yeah, it's a pretty large diameter nozzle and thick stream. However, the water inevitably comes out with less force than an air pressure or CPS blaster. My tests a few years ago were hampered by a too-short firing range, but you'd probably give away a meter or two in range compared to a small CPS, and I suspect the measured output would be low for the nozzle diameter.

As a piston blaster, it's excellent. As a blaster period, I wouldn't choose it for "serious" fights. In my experience piston guns often do well on the firing range, but less well in combat.

I have one of these, and it performs quite well. The streams it puts out are thick and cohesive, and the distance is respectable. The problem I have with it is the build quality. The pump leaks water badly, and there is a spray of water from the cap with every pump. I may have gotten a bad one but overall I'd advise you to be extra careful with it.

If anyone has pics of this blasters and are willing to share, I'd love to be able to post 'em on iSoaker.com. Of course, a review would even be better! *hint hint*

I will probably get one, and will review it when I do.
