Soaker Wards? I think that the XP 215 is probably a little better, but I don't own it.
Re: Super Soaker: Soaker Wards Hydro Fury (2-pack)
I'll hold off the vote on this one. From what I've heard, the 215's have more range and appear to have higher reservoir capacity, but if that's not the case, then I may even prefer these over the 215 for styling. The larger filling caps is probably much better to fill with as well.

"Wards"? What "Wards"? Darn typos..
I'm looking forward to hopefully trying these out once I can get my hands on 'em.

This is now the last thing that needs to be reviewed.

Re: Super Soaker: Soaker Wars Hydro Fury (2-pack)
I personally think these should've been reviewed first because they're about the most useful soakers released by SS this year. Of course, their usefulness is only limited to assassins, but that's better than nothing. (err, well, improvised soakfest games like infection; that's all the Shot Blast and Rattler are good for pretty much, just like all the other piston SS's they've been cranking out ridiculously fast in recent years)
If these don't leak at all, they should be a better alternative to the XP215's but I've never seen the 215's leak before.
If you think about it, they are currently producing as many piston guns as they used to CPS. It's really quite sad to see the SS brand go down like this.

I love how they advertise them:
"The pump-pressurized blasting feature lets you pump up your “weapon” ahead of time and then deliver a steady stream up to 16 feet whenever you need it."
Aren't most soakers able to do this? But with more range. 2010 is truly a sad year for the SS brand.

Re: Super Soaker: Soaker Wars Hydro Fury (2-pack)
If it truly gets only up to 16 feet of range (which it likely is; the other advertised ranges such as on the Shot Blast have been accurate), the XP 215's are a better choice since they can hit 20' and thus I can't recommend the Hydro Fury. I'll probably vote later.

I agree! I just wish I could get my hands on them... that's what's holding me back. Haven't found them yet.C-A_99 wrote:I personally think these should've been reviewed first...

Hands-On: Super Soaker Soaker Wars Hydro Fury
Just got the two-pack of Super Soaker Soaker Wars Hydro Furies today. As expected, these aren't very large blasters, but fall somewhere between the size of a Super Soaker XP215 and a Super Soaker XP220. Nozzles look fairly small (XP215-size), but the blasters are rugged. Not sure what to think of the overall packaging. One nice thing is that there are none of those twisty-wire ties holding things down so one can literally tear into packaging and get a blaster out without needing scissors. However, as most of the blasters (apart from the Bottle Blitz) are in fully enclosed boxes, until the box is open, one really cannot see or feel how the actual blaster is.
Pictures and review to come, but not for a little while due to other work responsibilities.

Re: Hands-On: Super Soaker Soaker Wars Hydro Fury
For the twisty wires that BBT uses, I've managed to unwrap, though slightly painful at times, every one of them for my latest WW blasters. When kept at full length, they are useful to be reused as strap hooks for blasters that lack them. (You need to wrap two or more wires around parts of the blasters where it'll stay together, then hook a strap hook to the wire hook.)
The Max-D 3000 re-release this year is also packaged the same way; the blasters cannot be seen until the box is open. (Same goes to the Shot Blast and Rattler; Nerf tends to do that a lot on the Nerf blasters themselves.)
Let us know when you find out how these perform relative to the XP 215, and if they resolved the slight leaking issue.

Re: Hands-On: Super Soaker Soaker Wars Hydro Fury
They sound bigger than expected; I assumed they'd be the same size as the 215. Depending on their performance and whether they leak or not, they may be the best new blasters released by Hasbro this year! It certainly wouldn't be too hard to beat the rest of the Soaker Wars line
Re: Hands-On: Super Soaker Soaker Wars Hydro Fury
Super Soaker Soaker Wars Hydro Fury pictures posted. Will still be a little while before I get a chance to review these... hopefully this coming weekend I'll be able to do some testing. Still haven't had a chance to even fill them yet!
That said, their fill port opening seems rather small as can be seen in the pics...

It's a sad day in soakerdom when the most prominent positive about a soaker is the way it's packaged.
