Hands-On: Super Soaker Soaker Wars Shot Blast

Post by isoaker » Fri Jan 22, 2010 7:49 pm

Got my hands on a Super Soaker Soaker Wars Shot Blast, the largest of the 2010 Super Soaker line. I've now managed to take and post up a bunch of pictures (link to the pics in the link above), but it'll be awhile before I can review it properly. I hope to be able to at least try it out a little in the near future, but time will tell.

Enjoy the pics for now!

Nice pics. There doesn't seem to be many accessories that work with the tactical rail yet since most of the ones available are battery powered. Perhaps they'll release some light accessories that are also waterproofed.

Now, as we wait for the most important part: stats and review... I wonder if the caps are still compatible with the aquapacks.

It seems that the SS design team got phased out a while back. The last super soaker line was in 2008, with the 3 piston and 1 air pressure blasters so that could've been when the team was being cut down. Of course 2009 had only the SS50 re-release so I guess they were planning on merging Nerf and Super Soaker for a while.

A few more stats (though it'll still be awhile before I can do a full review).

Length w/stock: 68cm
Length w/stock extended: 76cm
Weight empty: 930g
Reservoir Volume: 1160mL
Pump Volume: ~25mL
PC Volume: ~23mL

Stream's blast feels rather forceful (more so than the Quick Blast), but haven't done any range testing or side-by-side comparisons, either, yet.

The pump vol. is greater than PC vol.? I thought you'd have to pump it up at least 2 times before it starts releasing water, odd.

I have Shot Blast w/ N-Strike scope. Gotta say it does have a nice feel to it. Though I'll still probably use Flash Flood as my main weapon, this thing feels very solidly built, and I could probably do some nifty tricks with it.
