XP 270 review

Post by steelboot. » Tue Aug 11, 2009 1:56 pm

Just thought I'd post it for you guys to see.

XP 270 review

Capacity: approx. 1L
PC Capacity: 200 mL
Length: 45 cm
Output: about 1.5x: fairly thick stream
Range:

level: approx. 25 ft.
angled 45°: approx. 35 ft.

Review:
The XP 270 is, in my humble opinion, one of the best all-around lightweight blasters there is. It has a decent output, solid capacity, and excellent stealth compared to its predecessor, the noisy-pumping XP 70. The blaster has a very good feel to it, with a comfortable pump handle and trigger area. Its range is a bit disappointing, though. With a 35 foot range, the XP 270 leaves a bit to be desired. Despite this, it is still a great blaster. If you see one in a store, buy it.

Usability

Overall

4.25

Usage: Assault Rifle (don’t use it for anything else, there’s no use)

Positions that should use the XP 270: Grunts, Forwards, Captains (for backup)

Final Word
The XP 270 is worth the 80/100 that iSoaker gave it. It is an excellent assault rifle that won’t waste water. It holds its own against all other XPs, but be wary of large CPS weaponry.

Assault rifle? It's more of an SMG or carbine, could be used for WBL/tank crews, light CQB fast-warriors, etc. But it is by no means able to be classified as an AR when compared to real weaponry. (now it can be used as a grunt's primary, but still doesn't change what it is. =) )

I'd say usability would be limited to 3-4 simply due to it's lack of fire (err... water)power. I'd use it for those who need zero encumberance, CQB, and for WBL/tank crews. It's also great for those light-weapons only games. (unless you have douche-headed idiots who pick up CPS 2100's)

Usability means how easy it is for any random person to pick it up and use it. I should've been more clear.

Yay. This is a really good scouting weapon and mine can shoot up to 40 feet! (iSoaker.com only got 29' out of it. Weird huh?) My brother snipes with it.

Yeah, only got ~30' from mine, but then again, that's why it's best to have multiple reviews. In the end, I only get to test one or two so if the one I'm using is better or worse than the average, I wouldn't know. Optimally, would be great to get a bunch of range stats for every blaster taken from as many people as possible and do some statistics on it, but that's more of a wish presently than something easy to do.
