Re: Vaporizer Review
I'e handled a vaporizer once or twice and as far as I know they are a half decent Piston Gun. I liked the video. This is the type of thing we need to promote water warfare. More videos on youtube. When some bloke searches for flamethrowers he'll find something like this or one of my videos and possibly be hooked.

Re: Vaporizer Review
I think we'll start seeing more video reviews in the future. I liked how you noted how wide the planks of wood are so that we know the size of the splash damage you can cause with the blaster. I have never thought of that before. It might be something to take note of in my own reviews. It would be a bit variable though since the closer you are to your target the greater the area soaked due to a greater power level.
The Vaporizer is fun but I would never use it in any serious watergun fight. Any blaster that is piston operated has to have incredible output or range for me to use it. Your reaction time and accuracy is going to be lower with these types of guns and you're not going to be able to keep up a steady stream either.

Yeah about the video concept though I am beginning to make some videos. I have 2 or 3 on youtube. I think a video contest would be an amazing idea with the winner getting some cheap prize or some priceless reward. I would like to see battle and armory videos also. The video reviews are nice because you see the stream.
About the use of piston guns. I rarely use piston rifles as weapons. I use a splatter shot as a combat shotgun which owns eveyone because I use my speed and its rate of fire. They are excellent for loaning out because they are cheap and hard to break. Younger players also excel at using them because they don't have to pump and there typically smaller. I tend to use piston guns as skirmish weapons for people escorting my HWO's.

^ In that case, I'd at least have them use something like the Max-D 6k or other light but powerful blasters. Most piston guns aren't too useful for many wars, but they seem to be good for naval warfare, given the piston gun has reasonable output like the stream machines or homemade syringes. As for splatter shots, blasters like the Flash Flood can do much better, though you have to go more of a hit and run style to be effective. However, splatter guns like the Splat Blaster are very limited in output per shot and a de-nozzled XP 310 (or any other air pressure blaster for that matter) would do a better job.
Re: Vaporizer Review
My team has some younger players who hate air guns. Pistons are decent for close quarters combat. I don't know much about stream machines:I know they exaggerate but range do they really get? About naval warfare imagine an IOWA class battleship with giant wbls.

Yea, I think so too (unless it's just a wee-little squirt gun). Players can do quick up-close assaults while someone is pumping or refilling. Just strafe and shoot, but you have to be quick on your feet.Pistons are decent for close quarters combat.
