NEW Water Gun Line: Mizumi

Post by ZOCCOZ » Wed May 28, 2008 6:38 pm

Well, I haven't been around for awhile. Then again, not much new with retail soakers. And with that I mean Super Soaker still sucks(how can you brutally mess up even pump cannons?) and Water Warriors are still to slow witted to crush them(how can you not run someone out of business who messes up even pump cannons?). Its like a Mediocrity Arms Race.
Not to mention people paying $100+ for CPS soakers with 10+year old decaying rubber inside.

In any case, here is a new Water Gun line that might bring something less crappy. Its not like the bar is high right now, or that this line is any better. However they have decent designs and nice looking sizes. I probably will be getting the KEN and the BASHIRA. Anyways, you heard it first from good ol' ZOCCOZ here  :

I'm not sure whether to cheer or throw up... a manga water gun line? Still they might perform good. Where do you buy them?
edit: i wish i was as awesome as this guy:

Its bound to land in local retail stores sooner or later. Personally I never was a manga fan. And while the comic poster boy looks somewhat flamboyant on that image, the gun doesn't. Plus the image still beats the Ozinator comercial dude who gets hit by white liquid. That makes Manga look like the UFC.

As for performance, I don't know squat about it. But the bigger ones will look good in my collection.

Nice find! Interesting looking blasters, but their manga-style character looks a little 'off', somehow, and I like many mangas. :goofy: I've not seen any in stores nor online; where did you hear about this line? I do like some of the styling, though. As for the other 2008 stock soaker offerings, yeah, nothing particularly notable this year, but I've not given up hope on things.

Edit: upon further inspection of the line, most appear to be pump-action blasters. Other than on "Shubi", the pistol, and possibly "Bashira" (can't see the back grip), I don't see triggers.

Oh, and unless they are distributing internationally, that is a company based in Austria. Not sure whether they'll be available elsewhere.

Links to Mizumi Water Guns at Amazon.com
Oyakata ($24.99)
Shubi ($12.99)
Bashira ($49.99)

So they are selling in North America under the Carrera brand name.

These early model's don't look like much, but I hope this extra competition does something to stimulate the Water-Gun designs.
Although 50 bucks for what appears to be a piston-rifle is awfully expensive!
You could make one, possibly two far superior homemade water-guns for that amount of cash.
The Maple-Mountain-Marines.

Terrifying, but oddly refreshing.

What did you think of them in real life as opposed to just on the website?

The Mizumi line looks interesting, but I probably won't be getting any. Even if they are something new, they look like they perform the same as modern Super Soakers and Water Warriors, but they're more expensive. I will be watching to see if any more blasters come out of this company, though.
