Walkie-Talkies

Post by WaterWolf » Mon Feb 18, 2008 2:44 pm

What has your personal experience been with walkie-talkies?
Not necessarily experiences involving water-warfare, but just on radio's in general and if you can remember, please say which model or brand you were using.

Thankyou,
WaterWolf.
The Maple-Mountain-Marines.

Terrifying, but oddly refreshing.

I've only had limited, albeit very fun experiences with "Walkie-Talkies". I've seen modern ones get great ranges, probably a lot better than the 50-100' range the ones I used would get. I'd imagine that they could be very useful for a full scale water war so long as they could be properly protected from exposure to water, of course. :goofy:

Simple push and talk operation is the best. These days, were I to get another set (or sets) of walkie-talkies, I'd look for ones that offer multiple channels.

I agree with isoaker, head sets would be the easiest choice, as they would be easier to use on the move. A good coating of electrical tape should protect a walky talky. Overall though, i think walkie talkies would be of best use in massive water wars, to aid in squad coordination.
