I think this is in the right forum. Sorry if it isn't.
Anyways, today in Chem II my teacher was talking about some elements, and mentions Argon. I think purple water gun.
Anyone else experienced anything similar?

The pre-charger series are all named after different gases. Your teacher was not talking about water guns. I f you look on a periodic table of elements then you would see the Krypton and Xenon.

I see numerical designations on digital clocks. 1000, 1200, 135... It's weird sometimes.

When someone says "pc" I think "pressure chamber" before "computer". Similiar for when I see certain abbreviations like SM, CPS, XP, etc.

Its the BRAIN VIRUS of water guns.
Highly contagious and incurable, often picked up from looking at too many water-war web-sites. Can be transmitted from person to person vie talking about water-guns and internal water weapon parts.
Symptoms:
Lack of concentration when doing anything besides water war stuff.
The Brain begins kicking out unneeded thoughts like chemistry and computers, to replace them with all things of water-war.
Constantly, and uncontrollably moving mouth when the subject of water comes to mind.

@Some Guy: I know the guns are named after Noble Gases (duh). I was just saying that it reminded me of the prechargers.
Luckily, I haven't seen any "Flash Flood Warnings".

Great thread. This happens to me all the time...with practically everything, and far beyond the scope of water gun names. I'll post here when I remember a good one.

I guess it just ticks me off now when people treat soaking as a very trivial matter. You know you're into a subject way too deep if you act that way--I mean, unless you've heard of Soakerdom and been there for a while, why would you take soaking seriously? It's really weird.
Once I saw the word "Silent" and did a double-take. Strange. As with Duxburian, I also consider PC and a few other technical acronyms as only being water gun-related, but of course that's not true. It is pretty freaky, though, how it's changed my life.

When I went to a major Nerf war, I got thrown curveballs everywhere with the terms. "pc" in Nerf is PowerClip, a type of gun, but of course my mind instantly jumps to pressure chamber. I usually don't see my alias that often, but it does seem odd when it pops up [countless thousands have a claim to the name, and many better than mine].
While most don't take soaking seriously, locally, when we throw a new member into the fray, that person comes out with a totally new perspective. Their view of soaking reverses completely in a short 2 or 3 hours. And they talk about the experience with friends and family. And our reputation spreads. People I don't even know have asked me how to sign up for water wars. So if juniors and seniors in high school are this interested [we have people from all high school grades too], then locally we've been successful in getting people to respect and take water warfare seriously. Too bad Ridgewood is a bubble...

Yeah, some seem to think soaking is all little kid run around type stuff. Even with just squirt guns it can still get quite tactical, especially since you can probably use them inside some buildings.
Wish I had a somewhat hardcore group around my area, maybe I could try and start one, but it seems like everyone is into airsoft and paintball more.
Anyways, since I haven't been into soaking too long and have been into computers somewhat longer, I still think of a computer first when I hear PC unless the person is directly and quite obviously talking about water guns. If they say "PC" out of nowhere and aren't talking about anything I'd probably think of computers.

An old topic, but it's stickied in my brain. Rook, would you mind starting a similar one over at WWc?
I've been meaning to post this for over a week, but whatever. I was riding in the car, on the highway, and I saw the side of a pickup truck that had the logo "iSc." Yup, even with the capitals/lowercase! Can you believe it? The acronym stood for something like "Intrastate Service Corps/Company/whatever," I think--I don't really remember. I made a mental note of it for obvious reasons.
And then I thought of wetmonkey442's site, Downpour, during a downpour a few days ago.

Gladly done. :;): See it here.
Sadly, I couldn't come up with a new example.

Thanks for the thread. Oh, and by the way, I did a search and found out that it's Intrastate Service Company, and not Corps--I wasn't sure earlier. Funny how it's got Intrastate in its name, but it's based right here in Charlottesville.
A local operation, I guess.
