I didn't buy the knock off 1-3-5 or Helix. From the testing I did in store, the 1-3-5 knock off was a PR blaster with a crappy pump. Maybe it could have actually been decent, I don't know.
lol I was wondering when someone would notice the longshot... Yes, I have modded a few longshots, I used to have 6 blue and one yellow at one time.
If I had the time, I would try and test out some of my similar guns... Although I never considered the XP150's I have as performing different, not sure. Oh, and if you want a MK3 [orange] tank and PC's, let me know.
Modded longshots are pretty awesome. Off topic: do you like the lightning or tigershark more? You said earlier that you really like the tigershark, but is the lightning better?

That is actually an excellent question. The two are practically the same gun; in particular this MK2 Lightning which appears to have the same nozzles. I would like to compare them side by side first, but from what I can remember, the Tiger Shark has better range on 5X, more capacity overall, and a better pump. The Lightning pump has a tendancy to hit the body. That being said, they both suck in the handle/trigger area, but the Lightning seems to be more comfortable stock than the Tiger Shark. At the moment both of my Sharks have the triggers cut back, it was practically necessary. On the Lightning I'm not so sure. I'll be back once I dig them out and do some tests.

Went on a walk and found some people having a garage sale, the same people who had left a Hydrocannon outside since winter. I spotted that Hydrocannon on the ground behind some garbage cans. I had to rescue it! 5$ later and it was mine!

It's dirty, it's rusty, spiders are living in it, but it works great! The pump is much better than my other Hydrocannon. I'm not sure what I am going to do with this one, it's probably going to stay stock for a little while, I'll probably open it at some point and by then maybe I will have a smashed Flash Flood that I can salvage the PC from. That would be nice, but not nearly as nice as the Hadroken...

I know we have talked about relocating the whole community to Florida because of the weather and whatnot, but I was thinking, why not the Vancouver area?

I own a (currently broken) Lightning and have fought against the Tiger Shark. The Tiger Shark seemed bigger for some reason, but both seemed to shoot about the same distance.

The HADROKEN is the name I gave to my Hydrocannon modification project. It's getting a big LRT PC(600-900mL), an XP150 pump, and a large reservoir/backpack. Essentially I am giving it 3-5X bigger PC size, reservoir, and pump. You can look at it here:
http://www.waterwar.net/site_wwn/board/ ... tml#p54476
Compared to this new Hydro Cannon, which may only get a Flash Flood PC (350mL ish, less than 2X), and likely still use the stock pump+res, it simply isn't as awesome as the HADROKEN should be. Although, I had originally planned on making some kind of chimera thing with Flash Floods and HC's fused together... well anyways...

That is really cool. Can't wait to see the finished modifications.

My splashzookas finally arrived!
Image
I am really impressed with these. they are a lot more powerful than I thought they would be. These are also in great condition. I also noticed one difference between the two, not sure if this is different enough to be a mark since it is the only difference:

The stickers are different, one says constant pressure, and one says official.

Yeah, it seems as though the CPS 1-3-5 and the Zooka (quite possibly the 4100 as well) have two different sticker designs.
Also, the XXP 175 and 275 have distinctive sticker differences.

The 3200 and 2000 mk1 can have different stickers as well. I would not consider any of them to be different versions, though.

The fact that it says "official Super Soaker" implies that it was a later rerelease. My XP 70 says "official Super Soaker" and I bought it from Toys R Us in 2005. I have seen other XPs from that time period that say "Official Super Soaker." So, here's some evidence that the Zook was rereleased in limited quantity.

The one that says official super soaker seems to be newer. They are identical otherwise, both say larami on the side.

Guess what I got today? It was just sitting, like this, waiting.
Image
A CPS 2500, for 10$. I mean, seriously! The prices at this value village are now crap. Every decent water gun is automatically 10$. I'm going to have to send some emails... Of course, for a CPS 2500, it's totally worth it.
That being said, my thorough look at the gun revealed a problem. There's something wrong with the laminator. I don't know what, but I see mesh out of place and something jammed in there. It doesn't pump air, and I don't know if it works at all yet, but I'm sure I can fix it.
Oh, and I picked up my fourth Speedloader 1000 as well for 4$.

First up, my Speedloader 1000 #4: (still untested)
Image
Surprisingly, the most interesting thing I saw was this:
Image
Take a close look.... It's made by buzz bee toys, and it looks just like this wasp:
http://www.isoaker.com/Armoury/Analysis ... _wasp.html
but it's called the "Water Rangers" instead of "Water Warriors". Almost as if Buzz Bee changed their mind on the name... Hmm. For 4$ is it worth picking up?
Oh and I bought my second SC 500 MK2 today:
Image
It has the same problem as my last one it seems; the pump seals badly and the PC only holds 1 oz of water... so it's time for some QFD therapy I believe.

So, today marks another value pillaging conquest!
I scored a color variant of the Water Warriors Pulse Master[4$], not listed on Isoaker.com:
Image
And I also found something else:
Image
No, sadly it's not a CPS 1500/1700. I found this cover on the top shelf behind some other junk. There's no sticker on it; I'm not really sure whether it fell off of a CPS gun that someone else bought (why/how would they leave the cover?), or if it somehow just derped it's way into the store with some other toy parts, but still, it should have had a sticker in that case... All I know is that maybe I missed out. It makes me very sad. This is what happens when you don't go to your village on a regular basis!
Image
Oh and I also found this knock off but cool looking flash flood. PR technology, trigger doesn't work, but it looks like it shoots two small streams out of both top and bottom. For 4$ I left it.

Did you get that SC 500 working well again? I've really wanted to get another one for modding. I bought one for testing and immediately resold, but I really like the idea of a small CPS blaster.

Also, I'm moving to British Columbia. Mississippi sucks.

Lol. Yes, both of my SC 500's are working fine. The PC was just old and tired, erm, hard to fill/expand, and that combined with a bad pump seal= no go. Popped the pump cap off, undid three screws, yanked the pump out, add some tubing, pump goes back in with a great seal, and bam. Soften the PC up with the QFD, and now I can pump it normally. They both work great now.

Do you think the stock pressure chamber could support greater ranges if you added a larger nozzle?

Heck yeah. It's a thick, mean PC. It's at least as strong as a CPS 1000, that's for sure.
The trick is, how to give it a bigger nozzle without a lot of.... work. If you can figure out how to do it, that would be pretty cool.
