Review order: which soaker would you guys like to see a full review on first?
Max Infusion Overload
Max Infusion Defender
Super Soaker Oozinator
I figure the AquaPack add-on, Flash Flood and Oozinator Refill don't need much more explanation for now and can be done after the newer blasters are reviewed.
I'm currently planning on doing 1 full review per week. That gives me enough time to do the review properly (except for ranges) while not rushing things or conflicting with other things I need to do life-wise. It also means that at least for 3 weeks from now, there is some new stuff coming to iSoaker.com that'll add to things to discuss on the forums.
Soak on!

My vote goes to the Defender.

PS Does anyone else think the Oozinator looks like a Hirogen gun from ST:V?

See if there is any performance increase in the FF.
Other than that, I'm curious about the Defender's output based on what the triple shot could do last time around. The overload looks like kind of an aquasquirtz blaster (colors).

Sidenote: on the boxes of the new soakers, there are little rating scales for Distance and Capacity. The rated distances of the 2006 line is 35', but on their little graphs, it is only ~70% of the length of the max tick on the graph. Might this mean that they have farther shooting soakers coming in the future that will have full bars on their Distance scales? Time will tell...
A full bar would be 50 feet on this scale (1/0.7 * 35). Sounds good to me, but I doubt they would make a water gun with a distance of 50 feet.
The 2006 Super Soakers haven't really phased me, in fact, I don't think I really care too much about what they are doing anymore.

For those who can build some pretty high-powered homemade water blasters, apart from styling, no stock blaster would likely be of interest anymore. That's no surprise.
For the rest of us, stock blasters are the beginning.

So all we get this year is a triple shot with a backpack and a seperate firing chamber, The arctic shock that shoots slime, and a what looks like a triple shot without the nozzle selector. Crud.

I am interested in the Defender and the Overload Backpack (not the gun itself). I will probably never buy the Defender, But I may buy the Overload, for the backpack.

Looks like the Defender will be the first. BTW, while I haven't opened it just yet, it doesn't feel flimsy thusfar at all.
Next will probably be the Overload, saving the Oozinator for 3rd. I have no current plans to review the 2006 Flash Flood since my current belief is that they've only changed the fill cap so it works with the AquaPack system (well, that and the outside colour). I don't expect any notable performance changes. I'd change my mind on reviewing it only if we start getting more reports on some notable change from others.

Why are the guns coming out so late there. They're already out in my area and the frozen snow is still on the ground

Really! Are they the same as iSoaker's? Have you seen the new BB guns/recolors? Tell me about it!

Early season bargain? Never heard of one on soakers. Heard of a late season bargain though!
The Oozinator is more of a prank gun, like you get one and go ooze someone as a prank. It will never have actual use, unless the water-shooting part happens to be powerful, which I doubt greatly.

I never saw you say who sent you these, so I'm just going to take a stab in the dark and say that hasbro started caring that we hate them. Also, I think someone mentioned the idea of removable backpacks in the Buzz Bee Toys suggestion thread. Anyways, I'm happy, because us light infantry get all the goodies, and we get to watch the rest of you (HAHA to the heavy gunners!) complain all year (for what, the 4th year in a row?). Looks interesting isoaker, can't wait for the reviews and more pics.

If that's true then at least they know we exist.
BTW: Who sent you those soakers anyway? ???

I just checked the BBT thread, isoaker mentioned universal backpacks on May 28, 05. (currently page 13). I've suspected fo a while that Hasbro keeps an eye on these forums. I think this, along with isoaker actually getting the things from them (not yet confirmed by isoaker) proves that they do.

Cool, if this is true then we have more influence than we think.

Then again I see your point: water guns have been getting weaker as the years roll on. This year, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm spending my soaker-related money at Lowes, Home Depot, and Sears, not Target or Toys-R-Us. :;):
You can make a homemade backpack cheaply and with far superior durability and capacity than company made ones. But most people don't for some reason. I personally don't like soaker backpacks and would never use any, but that will be its own article and I'll explaining why in some other topic.
I meant this year's guns are no progress over the guns from the last 10 years.

it's not cps! I thought it was, there goes Hasbro being cheap again.
C'mon, did you really think Hasbro would make a good CPS gun this year? I wanted them to make CPS 2000 anniversary editions, (check my sig) but I didn't really think they would. It would just show how bad they have been making the guns of '03-'05. My current problem is deciding whether to get the WW 2006 guns, or wait till 2007, when BB will improve their guns, and whan Hasbro might at least release a light CPS cannon.
So the backpack is the only improvement over the guns from the last 10 years. I am willing to say that my 1700 is better than anything they made this year. This means no progress has been made for the last 8+ years. But a 1700 with a backpack would be like a customizable 3200, and that is why I am not totally giving up on this year's line. So,
And let's look forward to the backpack!
This years line is still better than the 03-05 lines, and thing's can only get better from here. WW will also have a good line so let's just STOP being ungrateful for this years line. Were lucky they didn't rehash the whole ees line and put it in a new box. We always have the option of mod's and homemades if we don't like Hasbro's guns. By 2007 I am confident that we will see a mid-sized cps cannon, but as time goes on the chances of remakes become more and more unlikley, so any gun like that will be completley original which is fine with me.
Edit: It's a bummer that the separate backpack only holds 1400ml. It look's like I will be getting a overload, but only if it's $30 or less (I have a strange feeling that they want $40 for it) if not I will wait for a late season sale.
I don't see how you can say "we're lucky." If you don't like the guns Hasbro makes (I don't), then there's eBay for you (That's where I went)! But Hasbro has yet to release a gun for the past 4 years that a CPS 1000 couldn't beat. I myself will not buy any guns that are not at least as good as a CPS 1000. The backpack of the Overload is my only purchase this year, unless there is some gun that is re-released with no announcement. That aside, there are the BB guns! The Blazer is as good a a 1000, according to iSoaker's stats!
