Water Warriors Recolours - 2006 Line-Up
Seems like you've been having fun doing some soaker testing. If you're willing, please do write up a reivew on your new Blazer. I like adding in new info on newer soakers from different people.m15399 wrote:Blazer:

Water Warriors is the way to go for for me now, and thanks to Shop The States it unlocked that door for me making me able to buy them easily.

"Water Warriors is the way to go for for me now...making me able to buy them easily". ???
Anyway, with my current armory of a CPS 1700, 2000, and MXL, what BB guns would be best for me to get? I'm thinking about a Blazer, but I'm not sure.
I could also get the Hydra Pak and/or the Lightning.
So, the question is, is it worth it at all to get the Hydra Pak (great shot time and capacity but bad range) or the Lightning (a slightly smaller version of the Blazer.
Which is better, the Blazer or Lightning? I know the Blazer has better stats. Is it a good idea to get a Lightning when you are getting the Blazer as well? Should I bother getting a Hydra Pak?
I'l almost for sure get a Blazer unless it would be useless with my current possesion of a CPS 1700. Should I?
Thanks for any help. :;): I am having a hard time, because I have never seen any of these guns.

From now on I'm saying I will now be buying Water Warriors guns because I can easily get them now unlike before when I didn't know about that Shop The States service, which enables me to get things that are US only shipped to the UK.
It looks like I'll be receiving my Water Warriors guns quicker than expected, as Amazon has already delivered the Blazer to my US address (and that was with just standard shipping), very quick to me. So probably the Piranha should be delivered soon so both can be packed up and then shipped to the UK.
Once I receive them I'll provide further information, but don't expect any too soon as I'll probably be eager to take pictures of them and use them! :p
So what about my question? I want to get a (or two) WW gun(s). I want a lighter gun that still holds its own. I see three options, the Blazer, Hydra Pak, and Lightning. I don't care to get the Scorpion this year unless I get outstanding reports; I'd prefer for them to iron out any bugs and get it next year.
I don't want to get both the Blazer and the Lightning, just one (for sure). Which one should I get? I will get the Hydra Pak if it sounds good enough, I won't if it isn't that great.

Ok. I want a primary weapon, and I'll also be loaning it out to anyone who might fight with me. So I'll probably want a Blazer. Now the question is whether or not to get a Hydra Pak... I wonder what iSoaker thinks.

Yeah, but 25 seconds shot time on the 5x nozzle, and 3 minutes on the small one, as well as having the largest PC ever on a stock soaker? That's pretty good.Crashdummy wrote:He isn't the only person with an opinion. XD I think people were dissing it when it came out and said it was weak.

If they were both on 3x nozzles, the Power Pak would win IMO. I also like the 10x nozzle of the Power Pak, which gets even better range than it's 3x nozzle.
i would get a Hydra Pak if it didn't have such an annoying pump. Sure, it holds more, but it falls short everywhere else. Yes, you can get crazy shot time on the weakest nozzle, but that nozzle isn't even 1x. I'm sure the Power Pak could get awesome shot time with a super small nozzle like that too.

The Hydra Pak user can repump. You need a QFD for the Power Pack, the Hydra Pak user can refil from anywhere. The water in the reservoir of the Hydra Pak (6L) is twice as much as a fully-loaded Power Pack(3L). And the Hydra Pak user can overload for a total of 10L of water.
EDIT: Here's a comparison of the Hydra Pak vs. the Power Pack. HP vs. PP The Hydra Pak has an incredible pump volume! The Power Pak definitely has more power and range, but the question is if the additional water and the ability to refil on the field gives the Hydra Pak user an edge.

Comparing the Hydra Pak and SC Power Pak, both have advantages. The SC Power Pak is pumpless; great if you've got access to a fast-fill stations, but horrible without a hose. The Hydra Pak doesn't need a hose, but it does take a lot of pumps to pressurize it. Also, the SC Power Pak does have more force in its streams than the Hydra Pak. The Hydra Pak can NOT be overloaded. Pumping up the PC fills the reservoir. You cannot add in more water once the bladders are filled. Then again, once pumped, the Hydra Pak is a great back-up blaster, not needing pumping for a long time. However, also remember, to pump it up, you need to take off the Hydra Pak and pump. It would be hard to defend when pumping the Hydra Pak.

Nope, the capacity maxes out at 6L because the Water Warrior capacity is measured including overloading. Big Bee was thinking there, as it makes his soakers seem to carry more water.
I don't mind the Power Pak being QFD only, because I can fill it anywhere anyways. I will write something up on this soon, as I just realized nobody else uses this method of portable QFD, and it is superior to all other systems to date.
The pump being on the backpack would bug me. I would much rather use my portable QFD to fill my Power Pak than take off my Hydra Pak's backpack, pump it, then put it back on, all while defenseless in the heat of battle. :p
These guns, now that you think about it, are rather different from each other. I would still take my Power Pak over a Hydra Pak any day though.

Interesting. I wonder what the internals are like, if it can't be overloaded. The PC's must take up part of the reservoir; I wonder how that works.
Clearly having to pump (or repump) a Hydra Pak is an inconvience. But I would say it's better than not being able to pump at all. Then you can use it anywhere.
iSoaker, would you recommend the Hydra Pak to me?

If you want stream power and range, stick with the Blazer and Lightning/Piranha. The Hydra Pak is a decent soaker with good capacity and useful function, but it does lack 'oomph' (unless, of course, they increased its power for the 2006 edition... that is something I don't know). If you want a hold-out soaker, the Hydra Pak does nicely, but 6L is heavy for those not used to it, plus the remove-to-pump is a limitation, though not too bad since it lasts quite awhile on a fully pumped PC.
The internals aren't really special. There are basically two CPS-like chambers in the backpack that behave like a pair of 'lungs', though to be filled with water. Water is pumped from the reservoir into these two bladders, but since they occupy the same space, you can't add in more water once the chambers have inflated, filling most of the reservoir space. I should note that the PCs don't quite take all the water, thus once the PCs are emptied, there is still enough water in the reservoir to pump it up a decent amount again before the whole soaker needs a refill.

I'm going to Walmart real soon. (an hour) I'll try to take along my camera and take some pictures of any new 2006 BB guns I see there. Hopin' I find something good.

Well, what a dissapointment! The only WW gun there at Wal-Mart was the Gremelin. There was not a single other one there. They had the whole Super Soaker line stocked, the Defender, Artic Shock, Flash Flood, and Overload, but not a single WW gun! The backpack on the Overload looks very small (as it is). The Overload pistol is also very small. I can't believe they are charging $30 for it. The Gremelin holds 38 oz. and is $5, the Defender holds 30 oz. and is $10, you do the math. All of the guns are overpriced.
I'll be checking out Target this week as I have a gift card, I'll see what soakers are there.
