Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Python 2's are in plentiful supply on Walmart shelves. Pretty much all of last year's WW line is there. You might want to wait until the 2014 WW line is announced, though - there could be something good that we don't know about yet. The news should break any day now, the new line was already on shelves this time last year.

Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Where can I buy the Python 2 and other Water Warrior guns? Are they available at places like Five Below? Where is it best to procure them from (I'm looking to get several for as cheaply as possible)?
Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
I'm seeing the Python 2 listed for $15 on Wal-Mart's website, and no less than $20 at Amazon. I am also seeing that the old Gremlin apparently sold for only $5. Is the Gremlin (or a gun like it) still available?martianshark wrote:I would consider the Python 2 to be the AK-47 of water guns personally. There are some older, unavailable water guns that would fit that description better, but in current times the Python 2 is cheap and good. The Outlaw is good too, but it's less comfortable and only has one nozzle setting.
Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
OK, I'm now seeing the Gremlin listed on Wal-Mart's site for $10, while the Shark and Steady Stream 2 are both on the Toys-R-Us website for $5.98 and $7.98 respectively. What's with the branding of the latter two as "Sizzlin' Cool" instead of "Water Warriors," though? I see it with stickers for both on the Toys-R-Us site! Also, is the Gremlin really being sold for $10, or is it cheaper anywhere? And which of these three guns do you recommend (since they are within my budget)?
Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
What you're really looking for is the CPS 1000, but I guess that also depends on the water wars you're in.BCap wrote:I guess what I'm really looking for is sort of the AK-47 of water guns - cheap and a decent gun (NOT that actual electric AK-47 toy water gun, though).
I agree with DX on waiting out the 2014 line if you're buying blasters, although if you're aiming for a well-encompassing collection (with a blaster at each performance level), the Python 2 is nice to have.
If you're dead serious on saving money and/or buying multiple blasters at a time, go for a thrift store. Clearance is also a good option for dirt-cheap blasting, but is very specific to a time of the year with a narrow time window.

I'm just looking for something for EXTREMELY casual battles at the pool.CA99 wrote:What you're really looking for is the CPS 1000, but I guess that also depends on the water wars you're in.BCap wrote:I guess what I'm really looking for is sort of the AK-47 of water guns - cheap and a decent gun (NOT that actual electric AK-47 toy water gun, though).

Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Sizzlin Cool is the stamp that Toys R Us puts on all their non nerf waterguns. It's still Water Warriors.
*edit*
Since you are fighting a the pool you could always go with a Cricket or Outlaw if you wanted to save some money. The Python 2 does put out more water though. I really think the quad burst nozzle would be very devastating in pools.
IMHO that would be the XP 150, not the CPS 1000, but since you can't get either of those in stores I definitely say go with the Python 2. It's great. The extra $5 is worth it rather than buying a Gremlin or Shark or whatever.BCap wrote:I guess what I'm really looking for is sort of the AK-47 of water guns - cheap and a decent gun (NOT that actual electric AK-47 toy water gun, though).

Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Well, the thing is, I'd like to get multiple guns - I'm not gonna just get one. I'm hoping to get at least three or four. Any place to get any of these guns for a very low price?

How much money can you afford to spend in total?

Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Anywhere from $30-$50 (depends on how many hours I get in at work - I'm VERY part-time, as that's all I'm able to find right now, which is probably for the best, as I need to focus on school).
Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Crickets/Hornets (small pressurized pistols) should work well for $5 each, and the gremlin/shark piston guns are also usually $5.

Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Out of those three guns, I'd probably choose the Steady Stream 2. But if you need to save a few bucks, the Shark should be fine. As I said before, it's one of my favorite piston pumpers.BCap wrote:OK, I'm now seeing the Gremlin listed on Wal-Mart's site for $10, while the Shark and Steady Stream 2 are both on the Toys-R-Us website for $5.98 and $7.98 respectively. Where can I find Gremlins and Sharks for $5 or so? I see the Shark for $6 on the Toys-R-Us site, but that's it.darthmeow wrote:Crickets/Hornets (small pressurized pistols) should work well for $5 each, and the gremlin/shark piston guns are also usually $5.

Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Most places that sell water guns will have Water Warriors. I've seen them at Target, Wal-Mart, K-mart, Toys R Us, and most other major department stores. Whether or not they'll have the Gremlin/Shark, we don't know. Most of the 2014 lineup hasn't even been released in stores yet. If you do find it though, it should be around $5.

Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Any idea when the 2014 line (including pricing) will be fully announced?
Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Also, is the Water Warrior Gargoyle any good?
Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Because I saw some Gargoyles at Wal-Mart today for $5.

Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
Last year, the 2013 line was already out. It should be announced any time now.
According to iSoaker.com, the Gargoyle is a pretty good blaster. It would probably be fine for your purposes.

Does Rite-Aid carry the Water Warriors?
Re: Good Short/Medium-Range Gun?
They might carry the pistols, but that would be about it. Also, never buy anything from Rite Aid except medicine. They mark things up so high it's not even funny.
