Insanely priced merch shows up everywhere on eBay and Amazon. I think the idea is to catch someone who's either clumsy with the computer, or a complete idiot.

You would have to be pretty clumsy to type in your username, password, credit card number and pin to "accidentally" buy this. But then there are the idiots.

Well people are typically logged in automatically, and with 1-click shopping with your credit card info stored, it's not inconceivable for someone to misread the price and make a bad click or two. Especially if doing so from a mobile device.
