So I noticed a possible connection between the 1998 line CPS designations and the 2000 line designations:
1998 light CPS-1000, 2000 light CPS-1200
1998 medium CPS-1500, 2000 medium CPS-1700
1998 heavy CPS-2500, 2000 heavy CPS-2700
1998 heavy CPS-3000, 2000 heavy CPS-3200
So the designations are the same, just with 200 added to all of them. Is this common for water blaster names, or just the 2000 line?
Edit: the XP 220 and 240 are based on the 20 and 40, but with 200 added to each name.
Edit: and the XP215, based on the 15.

Re: CPS designations
That was just something they did in 2000. The 2100 isn't 200 more than 1200.

Yes, it seems like it was just the 2000 line.

Re: CPS designations
If you look into it, a lot of the numbering actually makes sense. That being said, some of the numbering (2100,4100) make no sense whatsoever, but anyways...
XP70 > XP 270
XP 110 > XP310
etc.
XP70 > XP 270
XP 110 > XP310
etc.
