Range testing 2012 Water Warriors blasters @ iSoaker.com

Post by isoaker » Wed Mar 14, 2012 3:21 pm

Managed to find a little time to do some range testing. Still need to do range testing on the new 2012 Nerf Super Soaker models; wasn't able to do them today due to lack of batteries.

That said, ranges measured for the new 2012 Water Warriors water blasters were very respectable indeed. The poorest performer in terms of range was the Water Warriors Steady Stream 2. Got the stream to ~30' (9m) range, but really couldn't get it pushing any farther than that. Then again, that pretty much matches the original version.

As for the Water Warriors Python and Water Warriors Colossus, both were able to push streams to the ~40' mark. What I found more surprising for these blasters was the behavior of their burst nozzles. Level range was at least as good if not better than the stream settings (but with a wider spread), but they could not fire as far as solid streams when angled due to each stream in the burst being thinner. That said, I foresee the burst setting being actually quite useful as a default setting for many occasions.

The biggest surprise was the Water Warriors Viper. Level range got 30' (9m) while angled, I got the stream hitting the 40' (12m) range. Very impressive for a large pistol-sized blaster.

Full stats to be posted on iSoaker.com probably tomorrow.

That's awesome. Definitely going to get a Colossus. I dare say it might be the best air pressure blaster in class > XP 150, 310, Max D 6000, 110, 100, etc.

Alright, I think I'll get a Colossus, but the Gorgon is still number 1 on my list. Although I already have more than enough sidearms, I may get a Viper or two as well, since it seems to be the most powerful blaster in it's class, no? I guess the MD 4000 is pretty good too, but they'll break eventually.

Thanks for the stats iSoaker! And an excellent job on all the reviews, as usual. :)

Great thing ! Still hope BBT will build up something passing the 50 + feet :) And when it is a AIR-Blaster weapon, it is ok too, of course :D

By the way, Can anyone tell me the archieved RANGE of the SUPERCANNON 2, the good old record gun from Ben ?

I might be able to beat this towards Range, may not output but also in shoottime :) 73 feet ???

I think the Supercannon II got about 80 feet or so. But I believe Ben said that if it had a better nozzle, it could probably shoot even farther.

For those who were paying attention to the reviews, the reported range for the Water Warriors Python's optimal nozzle, N5, doesn't get quote at the ~40' (12m) mark, rather it's been listed at ~38' (11.5m). I do believe that the WW Python may be able to reach 40' on a good day, but after looking at the splatter patterns, the average really didn't quite make it there during my testing.

That said, the practical range of all the air pressure-based Water Warriors water blasters for 2012 is probably in the 32'-35' range. While just over 40' can be reached by these streams, one would really only be soaking an opponent's foot at that distance. :goofy:

As for farther shooting water blasters, hopefully one day, but at least we're seeing a good level of consistency in respectable performance from the Water Warriors brand.

Defiantly have too look into getting some Vipers, probably 4 or 5 of them. Right now I am down to 2 partly working (with many batched repairs) Max-D 2000, a leaking XP 35, a XP 220, and a goblin, so I could really use some more good pistols and the Viper sounds like one of the best ever!

Depending on weather I get around to fixing some of my old Flash Floods and such, I might look into the others too. I have promised myself that this year I am ether going to fix them or through them out (or more likely ship them to GJIV :goofy: ) so that I have room for working guns to take there place. My Vindicator, CPS 2100 and other collectable guns are keepers, but the rest I have to do something about because they are taking up space that could be used for useful guns.

My Water Ball SL 175 just got moved to the broken pile.

Edit: That XP 35 doesn't leak as much as I thought, I tightened it too much at first, now the leak is almost non-existent.

Oh, sorry about the double post, could have sworn I clicked edit, but I guess it was quote.

haha, what do you mean with this smily in the end ;)

Just want to point out: I will take every broken Soaker for a fair price!(we will find a price we both agree ;) ) DO NOT throw them into the mill...Would make me really sad !

Isoaker is best!

Nice. Awesome to see BBT air pressure guns performing on-par with the small scale CPS's. I'll be picking a Gorgon this week. :)
