How do you store your soakers

Post by scottthewaterwarrior » Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:32 am

Wasn't sure if I should put this in care and repair or general so I hope it is in the right place.

I am curios to how people store their water guns. Every one can vote twice so vote whether it is indoors or outdoors and then the other options.

I myself store mine in two locked chests on my front porch carefully stacked on top of each other (outdoors but protected from the elements other then temperature) I have one for my old guns (pre-Hasbro SS guns), and one for my newer ones. I have it set like this so my friends don't get to my irreplaceable ones, though they don't know where I keep they keys.

We all dream of keeping them in a big room, air conditioned and heated, with each gun on its own shelf, but the reality is most people don't have that kind of space. I certainly hope no one keeps theirs in a sand box :| (we really need a XD smiley), One of my friends actually did that and then he wondered why they stopped working!

Oops, I forgot we had that category, I have such an eye for detail I often miss what is right in front of me. Thanks for moving it.

How many soakers do you have? I would love to do that but even if I moved all my LEGOs, Hotwheels, and other stuff of my shelves I still don't think I'd have enough space. I have 27 working guns and 35 total if I counted right. Some time I've got to take some pictures of my entire arsenal.

I have about 3 big ones and maybe 10 smaller ones, plus a water worm and some water balloons.

They're not displayed on the shelves neatly or anything. They're just stacked up. I'll post a picture in a minute.

I keep most of them in what was supposed to be the wine cellar. All the wine is crammed to one half of the room, soakers occupy the rest of the shelves. It does get fairly cold there, but the way I figure, colder is better than warmer with rubber bladders. Only the barn and attic have enough room otherwise and they have too extreme temperature swings. Unlike most people, I store my guns wet and cycle them periodically to ensure that they still work. Anything that has leaking problems internally is stored open and only the PC is kept wet until the problem is fixed. Mildew and the such accumulates at unusually slow paces due to the properties of the room.

Of course, DX has to have some crazy method of doing things. Stay classy Easton lol. Wine, soakers, you need to break some cheese out and classic records or movies. Sounds like a good time.

I store most of my guns in my closet at my room in my parents house. The smaller ones are on shelves in the closet, and the ones with straps hang next to my suits and uniforms. I also keep a few in my car - XP 20s in the dashboard, and a few guns in the trunk that I forgot to take out.

This December I will be moving to Mississippi for 2 years to finish school. I'll be bringing around half my guns, the ones I think will be most useful.

I used to store them outside in my treefort. Big mistake. The weather got to them. Take care of your guns, you'll get much more use out of them.

I just throw them in the closet in my room, which keeps them under clean conditions. I might cycle each blaster once or twice during the off-season, but I've been doing that less in recent years. Not good for CPS's, but it could be worse.

I've also packed up my workshop and stored all non-working blasters/parts in boxes in the basement. Not as good as the room/closet, but everything still stays clean and I'm not just going to leave it all in there forever; I have to fix the stuff sometime. I strictly never store outdoors/garage nor in other unclean conditions.

I keep them all in two cardboard boxes in the basement (Although my APH is in a closet at the moment, since it won't fit in the boxes.). I might need a third box soon though.

Ow man, I was really thinking I wasn't the only one who didn't have space for his guns indoors. Oh well, I guess I will have to talk to my dad if there is any spare corner in the basement.
