Hands-On: Nerf Super Soaker Micro Burst @ iSoaker.com

Post by isoaker » Mon Jan 30, 2012 2:50 pm

Well, got a Nerf Super Soaker Micro Burst today.

As we already know, this is a small, pump-action water blaster. It seems to be roughly the same size as my Super Soaker XP15:2000 edition, albeit a little chunkier. Capacity is listed at 2oz (65mL). Will confirm after taking more pictures of the packaging.

As with the other Nerf Super Soaker models, the feel is sturdy. However, I do not have any high expectations for performance.

More testing to coming later in the week.

The whole capacity is only 65 mL? That's seriously sad.

Hmm, it my be a new model SS gun, but I think I might get this one, I have been looking for a pocket blaster for a while. There was an XP 15 in the basement NiB but I don't know what happened to it.

Well, for what it's worth, the Super Soaker XP15: 200 edition only has a capacity of 64mL (less, though, since it's air pressured and shouldn't be filled all the way).

That said, at least the XP15: 200 edition could fire a constant stream.

It can't fire a constant stream?!? I guess that explains why it didn't seem to have a trigger. Lame, I will just have to find a XP15 on E-Bay, that is if I need one, which I really don't, but it'd be cool!

Indeed, the Microburst is a pump-action water blaster.

Pictures of the Nerf Super Soaker Micro Burst posted.

As for stats, did a couple of measurements on it last night. Reservoir volume was found to be ~75mL and pump volume was measured at 10mL.

One other surprise for me was that the cap is actually a screw-cap and not a flip-top. Can't say I'm too fond of the non-uniform diameter of the cap, but it works.

The Nerf Super Soaker Micro Burst review is now posted. As with the Electrostorm's review, all that remains to be done is some range testing. I have a feeling this one might actually be able to get better ranges than its motorized brother, but time and testing will tell.

Enjoy and soak on!
