Reviews to do for iSoaker.com: which first?

Post by isoaker » Fri Mar 11, 2011 9:42 am

Here's the listing of water blasters I have, but have not completed a review write-up on. I was going to say "full review", but stopped myself since I won't be able to do range testing for at least another month (weather and time constraints).

Incomplete/unfinished water blaster reviews:
Super Soaker Scatter Blast
Water Warriors Sphinx (UK Version)
Water Warriors Gorgon (UK Version)
Water Warriors Goblin
Water Warriors Titan
Water Warriors Hydra
Water Warriors Warlock

...and in the near future
Super Soaker Thunder Storm
Super Soaker Point Break
---------------------------------------------------------
So, my question to the group is as follows. In order of preference, what should the next three reviews I write up be?

I hope to do at least one write-up this weekend, but time will tell. This thread will be open for suggestions until tomorrow (Sat, Mar 12) morning.

I would like reviews of the US gorgon/sphinx more than anything else.
The warlock looks interesting, as does the thunderstorm.
I would LOVE internal pics of any of the new water warriors, preferably the ultimate explorer, ultimate vanquisher, and gorgon/hydra US.

I'd suggest doing the "all new" blasters (Point Break and Thunderstorm, maybe others) first, over the "remakes" like the Sphinx and Gorgon, for which perhaps the main interest is how performance compares to the original (and you say that will have to wait).

Also, the Point Break and Thunderstorm I'm perhaps more interested in knowing how they perform. I know what to expect from the larger Water Warriors. The Point Break's a compact blaster, and they can vary somewhat; if it packs a punch that's great. The Thunderstorm is motorised, and performance from motorised blasters can be hit-and-miss; evidence so far seem to indicate it's more miss, but more information would be good.

Regarding the US versions of the Gorgon and Sphynx, would review those once I have them but those aren't currently in my possession. Warlock is a piston-pumper and the Thunderstorm isn't quite in my possession yet, but should be soon.

I'll await to see what others think, but I am currently leaning towards, as cantab had suggested, doing the newer models first over the remakes. Eventually, all will be done, but it does take time and I've got so many things running at the moment that my time for writing reviews is much less than before.

Gorgon, Hydra, and Sphinx.

Blasters like the SS Scatter Blast and other piston pumpers can come later. All piston pumpers are more or less basically the same anyway.

I'd like to see reviews on the Gorgon, Sphynx, and maybe Thunderstorm. I'd really like to see reviews on the US versions, but as you said, you don't have them yet.

i am quite intriged by your "8x" rating on the sphynx, so i'd definately like to see that :D

as for official super splashers (i personally don't think they deserve the term "soakers" :goofy: ) i'd like to see how incredibly tiny that nozzle on the thunderstorm really is. (if it does deserve to be called that, and not "sunshower" :goofy: )

Definently all Water Warriors pressurized guns go first: especially the Gorgon and Sphinx. All Super Squirt piston pumpers go last. The Thunderstorm goes DEAD LAST.

The Thunderstorm was probably the worst performance, but it is a cool-ish concept and I'd like to see how it really performs.

Ok, recently also acquired a Super Soaker Point Break and a Super Soaker Tornado Strike.

Based on the feedback above the what blasters I have, I'm going to push up the Super Soaker Scatter Blast and Water Warriors Gorgon (Hydro Power Version) first, followed by the Sphinx, Titan, Hydra, Goblin, and Tornado Strike. Depending on when the Thunderstorm arrives, it may sneak in somewhere higher in the list after the Sphinx since it is a newer model.
