Question regarding CPS Monster 2K1

Post by Impending Flood » Tue Mar 01, 2011 1:57 am

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the CPS Monster 2K1 seems a bit disproportionate. At 76cm long, which is bigger than a CPS 1500, it has a slightly smaller PC and resevoir than a CPS 1000 even though it is much bigger than a CPS 1000. If anyone knows why this is so, please reply. I don't know if it's got something to do with the SC ability or anything but I do know that the PC case seems very big and long yet the actual PC is smaller than most CPS blasters.

I have attached a roughly scale size comparison with a CPS 1500.

Seeing as there are no replies, I guess nobody knows the answer...

I'm assuming there's just more dead space, or cylandrical CPSs take up more room.

To start with, a spherical PC uses the most volume while taking up the least space. Cylindrical PCs are expanding lenghtwise mostly, so they need more space.

Also as we are talking of the SUPER SOAKER MONSTER, this gun SHOULD LOOK INTIMIDATING AND LIKE A MONSTER, compared to others. there is much deathspace in there, not big holes, but everywhere you can see some unused space. Also the nozzles are quite long. The reason for its big size is its "name". Differences are mostly based on optical looks, since the internals do look like about the same in ALL cylindrical CPS guns(also the same with the spherical ones).

and its a reason of money: Who would buy a weaker Soaker, with a smaller PC ? Look is VERY IMPORTANT in doing Soaker business, nobody knows the power or range of a gun before buying it but you check its optical appearance, therefore this is more important, which led to "MONSTER" Soakers, just optically enormous built Soakers, which look tremendous(not speaking of their real performances as a water gun...)

Ah, I see...
Thanks for the replies guys. :D

EDIT: I was just wondering, if there really was that much dead space, then couldn't you take say a seriously damaged beyond repair CPS 2500's PC and swap it with the one in maybe a Monster X? That way, you would have a more practical and powerful soaker. :)

I have never measured all the internals of each blaster, therefore I cannot say for sure that all internals will fit in all guns(which is not very likely!). Also I would NOT put in the big and great PC in the smaller Monster X...THe PC casing in the Monster X is also THINNER, which leads to less PC volume(550 instead of the 750 of the CPS 2500)

Isn't the Monster X pretty simular to the CPS 2500?

The 2500 is still better. =p

Cylindrical bladders take up MUCH more space lengthwise than spherical. However, these bladders also seem to have less dead space, and arguably result in more badass blaster designs.

Thinner? Don't you mean thicker? I've always thought that the Monster XL and Monster X were built like rocks and thus should have a thick case in order to be more durable, meaning they have smaller PCs. I remember I read somewhere that the MXL's case is twice as thick as normal CPS blasters. :)

EDIT: Ignore 2nd and 3rd sentences. I was got confused and started talking about something else. ;)
