In about January/February, I got two very badly listed CPS 1700's, I now a bit ago decided to sell some of my big soakers, I am selling one of my 1700's, but I decided to keep the other, which had better performance, so, I didn't want to sell that really! :goofy:

Anyway, here are some pictures of it. Soon, I should be able to get a review on it (a good one this time!). This time, it will be how I do the proper reviews when I get SSNation started up.

Soon, I will be receiving a few more guns, but for them at present, I will only be able to take new in box pictures of them, as I plan on opening them after my big exams are over which will be around mid June, to sort of have a celebration fighting with them. :p

Nice 1700 there. I believe I remember the 2 1700's that were listed, and that went for cheap. Congradulations! Looks just like mine... wonder if iSoaker would want a review of my 1700 as well. :;):

EDIT: One thing I have noticed with my 1700 is that the 5x, which iSoaker says is 8x, really makes sense as an 8x. The so-called "5x" gets 4 seconds of shot time, and the 10x gets 3 seconds. The 5x should get 6 seconds of shot time were it really a 5x. That means there isn't much difference in output of the two nozzles.

On my 1700, however, the 10x gets a bit more of a riot blast than a stream. The 8x acts like a stream. I also get a bit of a kick on my 10x...

Wild Boys, does your 1700 show any of the tenancies I described? I was wondering if you had a riot-blast-like 10x.

My 1700 does show what you described.

The 10x stream is very rioty, what's weird is that my 1500 that I took stats on has the exact same performance stats as my 1700 pretty much. The output on my 1700's 5x is 7.5oz/7.5x and on the 10x it is 12.2oz/12.2x. Exactly the same stats on one of my 1500's I took stats on.

As for shot times, pretty much the same again, the output is big, which represents the shot times.

5x: 3.9 Seconds
10x: 2.4 Seconds

Once again, the shot times on my 1700 and the 1500 I took stats on are the same. Mind you, there are barely any performance differences between the two anyway from reports all over. The 1700 is basically a 1500 in different colours. Other than that nearly everything is the same.

I've heard that the CPS 1700 has a more durable pump than some of the versions of the 1500. Do you believe this to be true?

Also, your "10x" seems to be a bit more than 10x there. I'm pretty sure your 1700 is the same as mine, so I might really have a 12x, assuming you took those stats right. I believe my 10 shoots for a full three seconds, however, though I should check again. Do you prefer the 1500/1700 to the 2500? I'm convinced it's better, unless you really need a 20x.

I welcome any reviews members wish to write. IMO, seeing more different people rate the same soaker model gives a much better picture of a soaker-type in general.

@ Wild Boys: Great pics! May I repost 'em on iSoaker.com? Also, definitely looking forward to SSNation site once you get that up and running. Based on your pics, collection, and reviews so far, it should be a great wealth of info for Soakerdom members.

Feel free to put them up.

As for SSN, loads more pictures where they came from, blaster like the Blazer and this will have a lot of shot pictures (20+), and a fair few general pictures of the gun.

The stats will be based on tables from a spreadsheet program I used, and the review format, well, you'll see that once I review this gun when I have the chance.

The website will have the following sections: Home, News, Reviews, Community (forums and chat room), Combat, Fix it!, Sections and Links. I may think of some other stuff, but that's what the sections will be for now

Before anyone asks, no modding stuff here, find somewhere else for that, SSN ain't the place for that, I don't like modding full stop really.

I don't care how long this takes me, I'm going to get the site up one day. Just me doing it, nobody else, just me.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

As for the question of do I prefer CPS 1500/1700 over 2500. That's a question I can't answer, they both have advantages and disadvantages over each other, I'd rate them both the same, battlewise there is nothing really between them, its very even. I really like both, but there is no clear winner.

The 2500 wouldn't be a 2500 without the 20x nozzle, you just have to have one, its fun using it on opponents, like what I experienced last year with it.
