My freind's parents think that he has to many Super Soakers and they say that they don't want him to buy any more. I've tried to make many suggestions but they don't seem to be good enough to work. My freinds parents are not exactly mean but, when they say something they mean it. So, I need help from somebody here that can make up something that will persuade my freinds parents to let him buy more Super Soakers but not get him in trouble. Because the watergun season is going to start soon(especially where I live) I need an answer pretty fast especially because if my freind cannot get any waterguns his little brother can't get any either and he has not been encouraged to much to soak and can't use most soakers that have pumps so he needs to learn inorder to become a future soaker. I will also try anybodys solution. Good Luck.

A little more punctuation would help. I had to read that three times to get what you're saying.

I'm 19, and my parents do put their foot down if I want to buy something. But if I want to buy a water gun, I go ahead and buy one. They were very stiff about me buying more guns, because I already had about 25. Now, the most they would do is yell if I buy another one, but they basically have it down that its my hobby, and I'll continue, whether they like it or not. I don't recommend doing that, because I'm very sure you're not above 18.

The only thing I could think of is maybe showing his parents that there is a giant community out there that considers soaking a serious hobby. Show them iSoaker.com. Show them the forums. Explain that its a hobby, and that it isn't a passing fad. What seems to be the problem is that they either don't want him to waste money, they don't want the house littered with water guns, or they simply don't want him to get "overboard", and concentrate on different activities.

I will guess that its the last one, and a little bit of the first two. That's all I can say.

Heh, my parents are kinda like that right now as well. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get away with getting some more soakers, though. They pretty much said that I have three soakers, and why would I need more. They also siad that I should invest my money in a larger variety of interests, rather than just soakers.

Homemades are a real silver bullet for parent problems with soaking. Their whole attitude changes drastically if you build your own guns. Modding also helps, but to a somewhat lesser extent. Recalling from the past 2 years, the vast majority of those with parent problems regarding their hobby also had arsenals composed of all or mostly stock soakers.

More is not always better, I myself only have...wow...5 manufactured soakers left. The 4100 is dead for good, 2 21Ks are dead for good. But I have 3 homemades, 3 in progress, and enough parts for about 2 more. In lieu of tech, you can try to impress parents with powerful manufactured soakers like older CPS guns. However, an arsenal full of guns newer than 2002 is not going to get you anywhere fast.

He should sell his more crapy soakers and buy better ones to keep the numbers low. In other words, upgrade the arsenal. Soaker quantity afterall seems to be the problem here.

Yeah, I'm fine with my CPS 2000, MXL, and CPS 1700. The CPS 2000 and 1700 are two of the best (stock, for Dux :;):) guns ever made. The MXL is, well, the MXL. :;):

I'm fine with my current arsenal, but were I to interest some more people in soaking, I might need some more soakers.
