of summer's hot toys!
That's one of the headlines (next to a picture of a FF) on the Saturday newspaper I got. Selected quotes pertaining to waterguns below.
In the Time Out! section (which contains the article) there's a frontpage blurb - Summer's toy story:The big gun in water weaponry this season is the Super Soaker Flash Flood, but the Triple Aggressor and the XP270 pack powerful punches too.
From the title article:Or maybe you just fel like soaking your best friend with a solid stream of cold water from 35 feet away? No need to think twice kids. The cure for summer boredom lies in this year's overflowing toy chest. "If I had to pick the one toy that everyone is buying, it's the Super Soaker Flash Flood" said Tim Greene, tour director at Geoffrey's Toys 'R' Us in (home city removed). "You can hit a target with a hard shot of water from 35 feet away. These things just fly off the shelves." Mom and dad, just don't get caught in the crossfire.
From the sidebar:Water Weaponry - There's a flood of water toys on the market but Super Soakers dominate the summer landscape. The familiar brand boasts high-tech weaponry in multiple forms, although the Flash Flood, with its 35-foot concentrated stream and 16-ounce upper tank, is the most popular at Toys 'R' Us on (street removed). Among the most impressive: the Triple Aggressor, a water blaster that shoots three ways: a main blaster with a 35-foot stream, a mini blaster that serves as a secondary source of H2O, and a soaker a ttack ball that detaches like a grenade. The most convenient, however, is the XP270 twin-pack, which features two blasters and four body targets for tag-team action. Can you say "Drink up?"

When it comes to name brand recognition, the Super Soaker brand still definitely dominates. Thanks for sharing the article!
