Larami before Super Soaker

Post by Budgie » Wed Jul 27, 2011 7:37 pm

Hey All! So i've been doing some updates to Aqua-Zone lately and I posted something I always wanted to show everyone but was too lazy. Before Larami made Super Soakers they manufactured rubber toy turtles. Mine are probably from the late 80s or very early 90s. It's just a coincidence Larami made them, and I didn't realize it until maybe 2001 or so. I guess they always had water on the brain.

Nice find! However, Larami was making water guns since the 1970s. Guess you hadn't see the Pre-Super Soaker History page on iSoaker.com. There be some interesting things from yesteryear.

Thanks iSoaker, that's a great article. I was especially surprised that they made blasters that looked like guns without any orange coloring. Larami was such a great company, such a shame it's gone.

And sorry, these turtles are not for sale.

Well yeah, they also made an Uzi. After orange barrel laws were passed, I think they still made some pretty cool looking motorized guns with tiger stripes and stuff. I'm sure I saw an article about it somewhere, but that wasn't it...

Edit: Half the page wasn't showing when I first looked at it. Still don't see their non-realistic pre-SS guns though...
