No offense, but when saying something like, "look at this," one usually provides a link as a courtesy. People don't often want to have to go looking for what you're talking about, especially when they know you could have just dropped the link one time, and saved 20 other people from having to find it on their own.

And how long has this picture been on the internet? 3 years? 4? It's been around longer than I have! How does it happen that people are just discovering it today?

I think that's ridiculous. Why do you need 3 or 4 1000's or 1500/1700's when you can only use two? While the collection is impressive, why not share the love?
Sorry for the bit of rant, but I don't see just cause for it.

Because he can. :;): Think about it, if you had that many soakers would you "share the love"?

Collectors don't always play with their toys. They are more worth when not used up or even better in original packaging.

I'm not the kind of person to have two of the same thing. But alas, it is just one man's opinion.
And for collecting, thats just fine to have them in the package and all, but to me seems insane to have 3 or 4 of the same, unpackaged. If they are all different marks, I could understand that. I hope you see where I'm coming from.
One last thing. If he maybe posted some reviews on some of those other soakers, that'd be cool. I haven't seen a lot of those and think if, maybe his time permitting, if he wrote some cool detailed isoaker-ish reviews. I'm sure life is too busy right now.

Sure, he has a lot of guns. But I probably get a whole lot more use out of my 4 than he does with his 275. Chris Reid has different objectives than many of us here do with soakers. And that's just fine.

Having multiple soakers of the same model has its functional uses. Granted, its somewhat useless to have 5 Blazers or 8 SC500s, but having lets say 3 CPS 1500s or 5 CPS 2700s has a strategical long term use. Soakers break down eventualy, and one can always use a spare. If one still has enough good old soakers, one does not have to waste money on the new crapy ones. Its always anoying being downgraded from a CPS 1500 to a Flash Flood. Thats for sure.

Having multiple soakers of the same class are great for getting others (that you trust) into soaking. Basically, when I have fight with newer friends, I tend to be the supplier. However, after people get a feel for what is available and what sort of things they enjoy using, they often end up getting their own and encouraging more of their friends to get involved, too.
Plus, as ZOCCOZ mentioned, some soakers do break down over time. Having a few means you'll still have one working though one may fail. If both fail, you can start cannabalizing the worse-off one for parts to repair the other.
Of course, no one NEEDS this many soakers. However, as a collector as well, heck, it's my hobby. If I ever had enough money, I'd open a soaker museum and water park someplace warm...

If having to supply a team having multiple versions of powerhouse models is recomended. No one wants to be held back by some buddy's "Looser Equipment". Now having said that, I don't feel that right about giving someone a $50-$200 soaker either. Let those Mooches take care of themselves with a Max-D 5000 I say. :p
Idealy for me there should be 3 models of each. 2 for use and 1 in original packaging for my collection. Also, dueling with the same blasters is more fun.

I can understand that, but what's cool about you isoaker, is that you usually buy soakers before us and test and write reviews, giving back to the community, so to speak.
Its true soakers break down, but how many times do you get to use all 275 before one of them breaks or falls apart?
Still, I see where you are coming from.

Chris Reid used to do that as well, he is just inactive these days, has kinda moved on.
This brings up that old "modder vs collector" debate. For a collection, of the 275 whatever soakers, I would expect few see battle use. That's just how collecting goes. You use it, it loses value. "Value" is itself subject to the individual. Stock value and modded power value are totally separate. A heavily beat up, painted, heavily modded, old CPS 1200 could be valued like a NIB mint condition CPS 2000 to someone else. It all depends.
