What method(s) do you use or would consider using to keep score / determine who is winning or losing in an organized water war? Even if you simply use the honor system, how much water must a player be hit by to be considered a true hit?
An easy-to-use, but effective scoring system is one of the major hurdles to overcome when it comes to setting up an organized water war.

Re: Water Warfare: Scoring Systems
This is the rule that we use:
If you are hit with enough water to create a splotch that is larger than your clenched fist or an unbroken slash, longer than from fingertip to wrist, you are eliminated.
This allows guns with high output to fire a minimal amount of water for a kill (the splotch).
However, smaller beam weapons can also be effective when using this rule, since even an SS-50 can create enough wet area in one slashing motion to result in a kill.
This system however still relies somewhat on Honor, so it might not be the most effective method for Tournaments.

@WaterWolf: What happens to eliminated players? Do they have to leave the field or can they respawn? If they can respawn, who keeps track of overall score? If they cannot respawn, what keeps them from getting bored if the game continues for awhile?

Re: Water Warfare: Scoring Systems
Mabye there could be a rule about respawning, a place in each base where the other team members have to get to to bring someone back into the game. like lets say you get hit so your out. Then after a while one of your team members get to the other teams respawn spot and tags it, the player on your team who was first eliminated is now back in the game, a bit like dodgeball.
Re: Water Warfare: Scoring Systems
Never played with a scoring system since were always fighting soakfest style. We just compared t-shirts after the fight was over. The team that was the least soaked won.
