The WWN League owes a huge debt to the water warfare teams that teams that preceded the league. These teams laid the foundation for water warfare as we know it today.

Red Scorpion Commandos

Typical Arsenal: CPS 1500s, CPS 4100s, CPS 2100s, CPS 1200s, SS 100s
Viper formed Red Scorpion in response to a challenge to defend his treefort from being taken over. Although the team that came together to defend Viper's fort was completely humiliated in the first Vermin War, Red Scorpion went on to dominate their rivals over the next 7 years.

The Water Militia was a hardcore waterwar team that hosted the Dominator Wars in the early 2000s. The WM was the first team to heavily rely on modded guns and homemades.

Regular battles were fought between Waterbridge and the Ridgewood Militia between 2004 and 2007.
