I bought one of these tennis ball launchers by chance. Sturdy construction. The draw on this is very long, so it can store a lot of energy. Ergonomics aren't the best, but not bad. I think this would make a decent water balloon launcher with some mild modifications. Next summer I plan to cut a tennis ball in half to use as a sabot. The sabot will be tied to the gun to make it reusable. I think with some modifications this should easily get 60 feet at better accuracy than your average water gun. Some might prefer throwing, but I imagine the aim with this would be better.

Cool idea. I would like to see how this thing works with waterballoons. It is definitely a lot lighter than our typical launchers. The question is whether or not it will be powerful enough.

A one-handed balloon launcher would certainly be nifty (two hands to charge, one hand to fire). It looks like it's powered by LRT, which I'm sure you'll upgrade. You may even be able to use Theraband Gold. Or perhaps use Theraband Silver Tubing (there is no Theraband Gold Tubing). I don't know if the launcher would hold up to it, but you could try speargun tubing or bands, too. Can't wait. You are overdue.
