i am planning on buying a Max-i Defender (or two, to have one to mod/ experiment) and had some questions for anyone who has or knows anything about them besides what isoaker has posted in his review. my first question is about internals. i dont know if anyone has opened one up, but if they did some pictures would be sweet. also on the topic of internals i was wondering about modding the thing. for the pictures it really does look very moddable (hopefully it could be the like the 2100 of air soakers) and was wondering if anyone plans on doing anything past the usual cvf, reinforcements and cosmetic mods. also, is it possible (most definetly not practical) to convert it to a cps? by that i mean salviging an old pressure chamber from a broken soaker and somehow rig that to defender? i know that the idea wouldnt be the best one, but it would still be kind of a cool idea.

XPS mods are known to be... total crap. If you tried putting a CPS PC in it, that might work, but what would be the point? You can just get a CPS blaster. The PC in the defender would probably be too small anyways. I don't get what everyone means about modding the defender. There are very few mods that one can do to an air pressure soaker with no nozzle selector. Nozzle selector mods, CVF, XPS, and backpack mods are the only reasonable ones I can think of.

XPS mods are not crap. I XPS modded my XP 310, five balloons in each chamber, and my range went up three or four feet. Nothing crazy, but still worth the five minutes it took to open it, pop in the balloons, and close the soaker again. I plan on modding one quite a bit, but I still have yet to go to the TRU and pick one up. I will work on modding mine last, after my Blazer, after I colossus my CPS 2500 which is taken apart on the floor of my room, and after I get my SS 30 from eBay and open it up, take stats, etc, and after I make my new and improved portable QFD. I will get around to it, but I have a few things to to before I take a crack at it.

Lol, the CPS 2100 of air pressure soakers, that sounds oddly familiar. :p

m15399: What else is there? Try naming mods you can do to a CPS 2100. There aren't many you can do to that either.

for the CPS 2100 you can:
1) Nozzle mod it
2) K-mod
3) cvf
5) backpack mod it
6) integration mod it

For the Defender you can:

1) Nozzle mod it
2) XPS it
3) cvf it
4) backpack mod it
5) either use a Max-I pack or backpack mod it

Wow, performance wise it has a whopping one extra mod more to do than the Defender. On top of that, IMO the integration mods are just ways for people that are either too lazy to take the time to k-mod their gun, or want that much more water in their pc. I mean come on, integration mods give you the same pressure as lets say a 30 k-mod without using as much space, but really, how much space can 30 balloons take up. IMO, it doesn't take up that much. It is when you mod it with roughly 70 balloons that space becomes an important factor. Sorry, but I just disagree with you on these things.

You can also do a pump reinforcement, pump replacement, trigger valve replacement, reservoir expansion, etc. on a 2100, but I guess you could do those to any soaker.

Integration mods are mainly for getting more range and power if a plain 80 balloon K-mod doesn't cut it any more. :;): They are meant to be another step in a series of mods including the K.

Overall, I don't really see the point of modding the newer guns. Yes it makes them more powerful, but a stock CPS is often already better than a modded 2003-2006 gun, and a modded CPS is twice as desirable.

Well dux, i think we all agree that the newer guns are far less powerful then cps cannons from back in the day. seeing as how there are less of the old blasters out there (yes, i know about e-bay) these is still some sense in trying old tricks on new things. back to the topic of integration, i wasnt talking about converting the current pressure chamber, but rather adding a whole new one. yeah it would be impracticle to do but i think it would be cool to have a cps version of an air soaker, plus a cool project to occupy my time.
